We review the non-Euclidean analog of the Fourier transform called Helgason-Fourier transform. The purpose of this thesis is to give a more complete description of the proof of the Fourier inversion formula in D. We will start understanding the properties of the Stereographic projection and Möbius transformations. Second, we will focus on the description and properties of the Poincaré model of the hyperbolic plane. Then, we will proceed to compute the eigenfunctions of the Laplace-Beltrami operator and use them to de ne the Helgason-Fourier transform in the Poincaré disc D. Finally we review the construction of the spherical transform to solve the Fourier inversion formula in D.
