Özet
ÖZET Ülkemizde Kimya Eğitiminin geliştirilmesi, eğitime katılan öğrencilerin eğitim seviyesi ve sosyo - ekonomik durumları ile ilişkilidir. Öğrencinin uygulanan Kimya Eğitimi programındaki başarısı kısmen geldiği çevreye, ebeveyninin fen bilgisi ile ilişkisine, okuduğu ortaöğretim kurumlarına, bu kurumlarda kimya dersi görüp görmediğine, üniversiteye giriş sınavı için dersaneye gidip gitmediğine ve ÖSYS'deki başarısına bağlı görünmektedir. Bu amaçla, Hacettepe Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Fen Bilimleri Bölümü Kimya Anabilim Dalında Hazırlık, I, II, İÜ ve IV. sınıflarda okuyan toplam 201 öğrenciye, bu öğrencilerin sosyo - ekonomik durumları ve kimya seviyelerini ölçmek amacıyla iki test uygulanmıştır. Bu testler sonucunda, alt sınıflarda okuyan öğrencilerin gerek alan bilgisi, gerek eğitim seviyesi bakımından daha iyi bir durumda oldukları görülmüştür. Bir öğrencinin eğitim seviyesi, günümüz şartlarında onun sosyo - ekonomik durumuyla yakından ilgilidir. Nitekim çalışmamızda da bunun doğruluğu görülmüştür. Ülkemizde Kimya Eğitiminin geliştirilmesi çalışmaları için saptanan bu sonuçların iyi bir temel teşkil edeceği söylenebilir.

ABSTRACT The development of Teaching Chemistry in our country is connected to the level of education and the socio-economic state of the students. It seems that the success of the student in the applied programme of the Teaching chemistry depends on partially his/her background, the relation of his/her parents to chemistry, the secondary schools he/she attended, whether he/she had chemistry courses at these schools, whether he/she attendad private courses for the university entrance examination and his achievement in ÖSYS. For this reason, in order to consider their level of chemistry 201 students studying in the prep, 1st, Ilnd, Illrd and IVth classes of Department of chemistry in scientific studies Department in Faculty of Education at Hacettepe University are given two tests. The conclusion of these tests showed that the students of lower classes are in a better condition in both the knowledge of the field and the level of education. A student's level of education is closely related his/her socio-economic state in today's conditions. Thus, the lightness of this is seen in our studies. It can be said that these conclusions that are fixed constitutes a good base for the efforts of improving teaching chemistry in our country.
