ÖZET ÖĞRENME HALKASI YAKLAŞIMININ LİSE I. SINIF ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN ELEKTRİK DEVRELERİ KONUSUNDAKİ BAŞARILARINA ETKİSİ Öztûrk Arman, Emel Yüksek Lisans, ilköğretim Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği Ana Bilim Dalı Tez Danışmanı : Yard. Doç. Dr. Salih Ateş Temmuz 2004, 133 sayfa Bu çalışmada;“Öğrenme halkası metodunun Lise I. Sınıf öğrencilerinin Elektrik devreleri konusundaki başarılarına etkisi araştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın ömeklemini 2002-2003 eğitim-öğretim yılı 2. döneminde Bolu ilinin iki lisesinde (Abant Lisesi ve Anadolu Öğretmen Lisesi) okuyan 106 9. sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Abant Lisesi'nde üç sınıftan ikisi deney grubu, biri kontrol grubu; Anadolu Öğretmen Lisesi'nde iki sınıftan biri deney biri kontrol grubu olarak rasgele seçilmiştir. İlk olarak öğrencilerin elektrik devreleri konusundaki ön bilgilerini ölçmek için ”Elektrik Devreleri Kavram Testi“ ön test olarak deney ve kontrol gruplarına uygulanmıştır. Öğrencilerin öğrenme stillerini belirlemek için ”Öğrenme Stilleri Anketi“ uygulanmıştır. Daha sonra deney ve kontrol graplarındaki öğrenciler kendi grupları için tasarlanan etkinlikleri tamamlamışlardır. ”Elektrik Devreleri Kavram Testi“ son test olarak gruplara tekrar uygulanmıştır. Son olarak, sadece deney grubundaki öğrencilerin öğrenme halkası metoduna karşı görüşlerini belirlemek için anket uygulanmıştır. vıBu araştırmada toplanan verilerin analizlerinde elde edilen bulgulara dayanarak ortaya çıkarılan sonuçlar şunlardır:. Öğrenme halkası metodu, elektrik devreleri konusundaki kavramların öğretilmesinde geleneksel metoda göre daha etkilidir.. Öğrenme halkası metodu, elektrik devrelerinin fiziksel yönlerini tanıma ve kavrama ile ilgili hedef davranışların kazanımında geleneksel metoda göre daha etkilidir. Fakat akım, enerji ve potansiyel fark kavramlar ile ilgili hedef davranışların kazanımında her iki metot arasında bir fark görülmemiştir.. Araştırmaya katılan farklı öğrenme stillerindeki öğrencilerin, elektrik devreleri konusundaki kavramları anlama düzeyinde bir farklılık görülmemiştir.. Araştırmada, öğrenme stilleri ile uygulanan metotlar (öğrenme halkası ve geleneksel metot) arasında bir etkileşim görülmemiştir.. Deney grubundaki öğrencilerin öğrenme halkası yaklaşımına karşı tutumları genel olarak olumludur. Bu çalışmada elde edilen bulgular ışığında ”Öğrenme Halkası" metodunun elektrik devreleri konusunun öğretimindeki katkıları eleştirel bir biçimde incelenmiştir.

ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF LEARNING CYCLE METHOD ON THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE CONCEPT“ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS”FOR 9TH GRADE STUDENTS Öztürk Annan, Emel Thesis, Department of Primary Teaching Thesis Advisor, Asistance Prof. Dr.Salih Ateş July 2004, 133 pages In this study, the effect of learning cycle method on the achievement of the electric circuits' concepts for 9th grade students was investigated. The subjects of the study were 106, 9th grade students from two high schools in the city of Bolu (Abant High School and Anatolian Teachers High School) who were attending school during the second semester of the 2002-2003 educational year. In Abant High School, 2 classes were chosen as the experimental group and 1 class was chosen as the control group out of 3 classes; in Anatolian Teachers High School, one was assigned as control group and the other was assigned as the experimental group randomly out of two classes. First of all,“Electric Circuits Concept Test”was administered to both experimental and control groups as a pretest to test their prior knowledge of electrical circuits. In order to identify their learning styles,“Learning Styles Questionnaire”was given. After these treatments, the students in the experimental and control groups completed the activities designed for their groups.“Electrical Circuits Concept IVTest”was given to both groups again as a post-test. Last of all, a questionnaire was administered to the experimental group so as to identify their perceptions to learning cycle method. The findings collected through analysis of the data in this study have provided these results:. Learning cycle method is more effective than traditional method in teaching the concepts about electrical circuits.. Learning cycle method is more effective than traditional method in teaching to identify physical properties of the circuits and in achieving the target behaviour. But no difference was found betwen these two methods in acquiring target behaviours in the concepts“ current, energy, and voltage”.. No difference was found in the level of understanding in students with different learning styles in the concept of electrical circuits.. In the study, no interaction was apparent between learning styles and the method applied (learning style and traditional method).. The attitude of the students in the experimental group was found to be generally positive towards learning cycle method. With the light of the findings of this study, the contributions of“learning cycle”method to the teaching of electrical circuits was examined diagnostically.
