Özet
ÖZET Fen bilimleri eğitiminde mevcut kavramların yeterince anlaşılmadığı ve bilgilerin ezberden öteye gidemeyerek güncel yaşamda davranış haline dönüşmediği, eğitimciler ve araştırmacılar tararından ifade edilmektedir. Kavramların anlaşılma düzeyi araştırmaları, yukarıdaki ifadenin geçerlilik alanları ve oranlan hakkında fikir verecek ve bu anlamdaki problemlerin çözümünde bilgi teşkil edecektir. Bu çalışmada biyoloji 2 dersi endokrin sistemi konulan araştırma konusu seçilerek, bu konularla ilgili kavramların anlaşılma düzeyleri araştınlması planlanmıştır. Kavramların anlaşılma düzeyleri genel öğrenci bazında ve okul kategorileri bazında irdelenmiş, öğrencilerle yapılan mülakatlar ile kavramların öğrenci zihninde nasıl şekillendiği incelenmiştir. Aynca, bu çalışma dahilinde bir basan testi geliştirilmiş ve bu test aracı Trabzon ilinin Of ilçesinde farklı yapı ve nitelikte olan lise, anadolu teknik lisesi, imam hatip lisesi, teknik lise olmak üzere dört farklı okulda 200 öğrenci üzerinde uygulanmıştır. Konu ile ilgili her hedef davranışın genel basan oranlan bulunmuş chi kare ve t-testi istatistiksel analiz yöntemleri ile bu davranışların gerçekleşme düzeyleri araştınlmıştır. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda, kavramlann anlaşılma düzeyleri bakımından düşük sayılabilecek bir genel basan oram tespit edilmiştir. Aynca incelenen farklı kategorilerdeki okullar arasında bariz basan farklılıklan gözlenmiştir. İlgili konular dahilinde öğrencilerin her bir kavramın basan oranları ortaya konarak kavranamayan veya kavranmada güçlük çekilen kavramlar tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular ışığında kavramlann, genel olarak bilgi seviyesinde kavrandığı fakat anlama ve uygulama seviyesinde yeterince kavranamadığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu durum öğrencilerin ezberleyerek öğrenme gerçekleştirdiği fikrini doğrulamaktadır. Öğrencilerin, endokrin sistem konularını kavrayabilmesinde, öğrenciler sınıf içerisinde daha aktif kılınmalı,kavramlann güncel yaşam ile ilişkisi hassasiyetle kurulmalı ve uygulama ve görsel materyallerin kullanımı arttınlmalıdır.

SUMMARY Defining The Level of Students Understanding Concepts About Endocrin System Used in Biology Lesson of Second Class at High School The teacher and investigators state that students don't understand the concepts they have to learn, so they try to learn them by rote learning and have difficulty in putting them in practice. Our investigation about the level of conceptual learning will be informational source to the solution of the problems in this field and will give an idea about the validity and proportion of the statements given above. The subject of Endocrine system in Biology 2 has been chosen for this study, we planed to explore the level of conceptual understandings about this topic. The level of conceptual understanding was explored in terms of students and schools, it's examined that how concepts occurred in students' mind by interviewing with them. According to the result of our interview with high school biology teachers, the causes of failure in teaching concepts of endocrine system are declared. In this study, a test was developed to measure the level of conceptual understanding and this measuring material was applied to different kinds of school such as High School, Anatolian Technical High School, İmam Hatip High School and Technical High School on 200 students in Of district of Trabzon. The level of their success in the target behavior of subject was measured and using various statistical analyzes, we tried to measure weather students put these behaviors into practice or not. The result of this study showed that the level of conceptual understanding is low. In addition to this, there are some success differences among the schools. We also defined the concepts that the students have difficulty in grasping and do not grasp. As a result of our research, the concept is grasped as a knowledge but not sufficiently grasped in understanding and practising level, this shows that studients have been learning the concepts by rote. We must try to make the students to be more active in class atmosphere and make them built a connection between concepts and daily life. The usage of practise and the number of visual materials must be increased
