Dr. Türkay BULUT Ekim 1999, 161 sayfa Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının etkili öğretme açısından kişisel teorilerinde olan değişimi incelemektir. Özellikle, araştırmaya katılan kişilerin kişisel teorilerinin içerik ve yapıları, ben ve ideal ben kavramlarındaki değişimler incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmada, öğretmeyi öğrenmenin öğrencilerin kişisel teorilerindeki değişimi içeren karmaşık bir süreç olarak görüldüğü konstraktif teori benimsenmiştir. Veriler Çukurova Üniversitesinde öğretmenlik eğitimi alan 15 öğrenciden Repertory Grid metodu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. ABSTRACT THE IMPACT OF PEDAGOGICAL COURSES ON STUDENT TEACHERS' THINKING Ayşe GÖRGÜN Master Thesis, English Language Teaching Department Advisor: Asst. Prof. Dr. Türkay BULUT October 1999, 161 pages The purpose of the present study is to explore the nature of changes in student teachers' personal theories in terms of effectiveness in teaching. We particularly focus on the content and structure of personal theories of participants and changes in them and the changes in their perception of“self”and“ideal self”. Constructivist theory, in which learning to teach is viewed as a complex process of change in student teachers' personal theories, was adopted for the present study. Repertory Grid method was utilised to obtain data from the random sample (15 student teachers attending an ELT Department, Çukurova university).
