Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı beş ve sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerinin çevre dostu davranışlar üzerine kavramsal bilgilerinin, okullarda çevre dostu davranışları gösterme sıklıklarının ve nedenlerinin incelenmesidir. Bu çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemleri içerisinde yer alan durum çalışması modeli kullanılarak, durum çalışması desenleri içerisinde yer alan iç içe geçmiş çoklu durum (instric) deseni kullanılmıştır. Bu bağlamda çalışmada uygun örnekleme yöntemi (convenience sampling) kullanılmıştır. Buna göre araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim yılında, Şanlıurfa il merkezinden uygun örnekleme ile belirlenmiş bir ortaöğretim okulunda öğrenim gören beş ve sekizinci sınıf öğrencisi olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın katılımcılarını beşinci sınıflarda 50 ve sekizinci sınıflarda 50 olmak üzere toplam 100 kız öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak çevre dostu davranış ana teması çerçevesinde hazırlanan iki form kullanılmıştır. Bu formlardan“Çevre Dostu Bilgi Formu”olan Form-1, öğrencilerin çevre dostu kavramını bilme düzeylerinin belirlenebilmesi için hazırlanmıştır.“Çevre Dostu Davranışı Gösterme Amacı ve Sıklık Formu”olan Form-2 ise öğrencilerin okullarda yapabilecekleri belli çevre dostu davranışları gösterme sıklıkları ve nedenlerini araştırmak için hazırlanmıştır. Formlar hazırlanırken, bir eğitim bilimleri uzmanı ile üç alan uzmanının görüşleri alınmıştır. Öğrencilerin Form-1 ve Form-2'den elde edilen verilere içerik analizi uygulanmış ve yüzde değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Çalışma sonuçlarına göre beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinin çevre dostu davranış kavramını bilme düzeylerinin yeterli olmadığı, sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerinin ise çevre dostu davranış kavramını yeterli düzeyde bildikleri ortaya çıkmıştır. Buna rağmen beşinci sınıfların çevre dostu davranışlara yönelik bilgileri sekizinci sınıflara göre düşük olmakla birlikte her zaman yaptıkları davranışların düzeyinin daha fazla olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca, sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerinin bu davranışları uygulama amaçlarının olmadığı yani çevre dostu davranışları önemsemedikleri de görülmüştür. Öğrencilerin okullardaki bazı çevre dostu davranışları yapmalarındaki amaçlara bakıldığında beşinci sınıfların bu davranışları en fazla ekolojik amaç için yaptıkları görülmektedir. Sekizinci sınıfların ise verdikleri yanıtlar en fazla sosyo-kültürel teması içerisinde toplanmıştır.

The aim of this study is to examine the conceptual knowledge of fifth and eighth grade students on environmentally friendly behaviours, the frequency and reasons for demonstrating environmentally friendly behaviours in schools. In this study, the case study model, which is among the qualitative research methods, was used and the nested multiple case (instric) design, which is among the case study designs, was used. In this context, convenience sampling method was used in the study. Accordingly, the study group of the research was determined as fifth and eighth grade students studying in a secondary school determined by convenience sampling from Şanlıurfa city centre in the 2023-2024 academic year. The participants of the study consisted of a total of 100 female students, 50 in fifth grade and 50 in eighth grade. Two forms prepared within the framework of the main theme of environmentally friendly behaviour were used as data collection tools in the study. Among these forms, Form-1, the 'Eco-Friendly Information Form', was prepared to determine the level of students' knowledge of the concept of environmentally friendly behaviour. Form-2, the 'Purpose and Frequency Form for Demonstrating Environmentally Friendly Behaviour', was prepared to investigate the frequency and reasons for demonstrating certain environmentally friendly behaviours that students can do in schools. During the preparation of the forms, the opinions of an educational sciences expert and three field experts were taken. Content analysis was applied to the data obtained from Form-1 and Form-2 and percentage values were calculated. According to the results of the study, it was found that the level of knowledge of fifth grade students about the concept of environmentally friendly behaviour was not sufficient, while eighth grade students knew the concept of environmentally friendly behaviour at a sufficient level. However, although the knowledge of the fifth graders about environmentally friendly behaviours was lower than that of the eighth graders, it was seen that the level of the behaviours they always performed was higher. In addition, it was also observed that eighth grade students did not have the purpose of implementing these behaviours, that is, they did not care about environmentally friendly behaviours. When the purposes of the students in performing some environmentally friendly behaviours in schools are examined, it is seen that fifth graders perform these behaviours mostly for ecological purposes. The responses of the eighth graders were mostly gathered under the socio-cultural theme.
