Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı bilim kurgu temelli ile desteklenen fen bilimleri dersinin 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin“Güneş Sistemi ve Ötesi”ünitesindeki akademik başarılarına ve astronomiye yönelik ilgilerine etkisini incelemektir. Ayrıca bilim kurgu temelli etkinliklerin 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin bilimsel bilgi ile kurgusal bilgiyi ayırt edebilme durumları üzerine etkisini tespit etmek de amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2022-2023 eğitim öğretim yılında Kocaeli ili Darıca ilçesine bağlı bir devlet okulunda deney grubunda 40, kontrol grubunda 42 olacak şekilde toplam 82 öğrenciden oluşan 7. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Dersler, kontrol grubunda mevcut öğretim programına göre işlenirken deney grubunda mevcut öğretim programına ek olarak bilim kurgu temelli etkinlikler ile desteklenerek işlenmiştir. Araştırmada nicel ve nitel yöntemlerin birlikte kullanıldığı karma yöntem kullanılmıştır. Nicel veri toplama aracı olarak“Güneş Sistemi ve Ötesi Ünitesi Akademik Başarı Testi”ve“Astronomiye Yönelik İlgi Ölçeği”ön test ve son test olacak şekilde uygulanmıştır. Nitel veri toplama aracı olarak ise araştırma sürecinin sonunda deney ve kontrol gruplarındaki öğrencilerle örnek olay senaryolarından oluşan sorular sorularak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Toplanan nicel verilerin istatistiksel analizi için IBM SPSS v15 aracılığıyla bağımsız ve bağımlı örneklemler t testi kullanılırken nitel verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda fen bilimleri dersi Güneş Sistemi ve Ötesi ünitesinde kullanılan bilim kurgu temelli etkinliklerin öğrencilerin akademik başarılarını artırdığı, astronomiye yönelik ilgilerini olumlu anlamda etkilediği ve bilimsel bilgi ile kurgusal bilgiyi ayırt edebilmelerinde olumlu anlamda etki ettiği tespit edilmiştir.

The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of science course supported by science fiction on the academic achievement of 7th-grade students in the“Solar System and Beyond”unit and their interest in astronomy. It also aims to determine the effect of science fiction-based activities on the 7th-grade students' ability to distinguish between scientific knowledge and fictional knowledge. The study group of the research consists of a total of 82 students, 40 in the experimental group and 42 in the control group, who are 7th grade students studying in a public school in Darıca, Kocaeli in the 2022-2023 academic year. In the control group, the lessons were taught according to the current curriculum, while in the experimental group, in addition to the existing curriculum, they were supported by science fiction-based activities. The mixed method, in which quantitative and qualitative methods are used together, was used in the research.“Solar System and Beyond Unit Academic Achievement Test”and“Astronomy Interest Scale”, which are quantitative data collection tools, were applied as pre-test and post-test. As a qualitative data collection tool, at the end of the research process, semi-structured interviews were conducted with the students in the experimental and control groups by asking questions consisting of case scenarios. While independent and dependent sample t-test was used through IBM SPSS v15 in the statistical analysis of the collected quantitative data, descriptive analysis method was used in the analysis of qualitative data. As a result of the research, it was determined that the science fiction-based activities, used in the Solar System and Beyond unit of the science course, increased the academic success of the students and positively their interest in astronomy and ability to distinguish between scientific knowledge and fictional knowledge.
