Voter's behaviour is one of the most important topics for the most of the voting literature. In vote choice, party identification can be described as an emotional attachment towards political parties that can be changed in the course of time. Additionally, negative partisan attitudes can be described simply as negative feelings toward a particular party. This study is concerned with voter's behaviour in terms of negative partisanship theory by comparing the findings of The American National Election Survey in the United States between 1952 and 2012 elections by Abramowitz and Webster (2016) and the findings of The British Election Study in the United Kingdom between 1974 and 2015 elections. In this study, whether negative partisanship is significant in the United Kingdom by examining the evidence of the theory of negative partisanship in the United States. More specifically, it is concerned with the interrelations between voting behaviour in the elections. For that, this study seeks to address to test the prevailing view of negative partisanship theory in the United States as characterised in the United Kingdom. As a result, this study finds that there is negative partisanship in the United Kingdom. However, the process of data analyses and the findings shows the different process because of the different political systems in both countries.
