Özet
ÖZET Eğitimin temel araç gereçlerinden biri de ders kitaplarıdır. Ders kitaplarının yapısı eğitimin kalitesini belirlemektedir. Bu nedenle ders kitaplarının hazırlanması ve seçiminde büyük bir titizlik gösterilmelidir. Araştırmada Talim Terbiye Kurulu'nun belirlediği Millî Coğrafya I ve II ders kitapları içeriksel ve fiziksel yapıları bakımından incelenmiştir. Ancak ders kitaplarının bilimsellikten uzak olduğu görülmüştür. Ders konularının birbirin den kopuk verildiği, kitaplardaki konuların öğrenme ilkelerine ters şekilde düzenlendiği saptanmıştır. Bu eksikliğin temel nedeninin Millî Eğitim Ba kanlığınca belirlenen dersin veriliş amaçlarından kaynaklandığı tespit edil miştir. Bunun yanında kitaplardaki harita, şekil, grafik, resimlerin hatalı olduğu saptanmıştır. Millî Coğrafya ders kitaplarındaki hataların belirlenebilmesi için Coğrafya Öğretmenlerine ve Orta ikinci sınıf öğrencilerine anket uygulanmıştır. Anket sonuçları ise gerçeği yansıtmaktan uzak bulunmuştur. İngiltere de okutulan bir ders kitabı incelendiğinde, işlenen konular ve sunuluş şekli arasında büyük farklılıklar belirlenmiştir. Ders kitaplarının en başta bilimsel olarak yeterli ve doğru olmalıdır. Hangi bilgilerin hangi sınıflarda verileceği ve nasıl verileceği ilgili bilim dalında uz manlaşmış kîşi yada kurumlarca belirlenmesi gerekmektedir.

ABSTRACK Text books are one of the important principels of education. The education quality depends on text book structure, therefore during chosing and writing the text books, teachers and National Education and Training Commite must be more carefully. In this study, the text books have been examined which are followed in Pri mary Schools that was determined by National Education and Trainning Com- mitte. These text books have been examined in terms of the view of scientific structure and physical structure. At the end of the examination, the text books are not available in terms of scientific reality. Subjects in these books are not parallel to Geography Teaching Principels and maps, figure, graphics, and illustrations have been given wrongly. To examine of geography teacher and student idea, surveys have been prac ticed to geography teachers and students in second class., but the result of surveys has not reflected reality. Because all of these books are not good to teaching. Therefore to show falses in these books, the books have been competed with, an other book in United Kingdom. A text book should give firstly scientific reality, because of this, it is necessary that it should be determined which knowledge, for which class how it should be given by researcher. After that, the text book should be written in terms of that principels
