SUMMARY The purpose of the present study was to provide descriptions of the behaviors that 4- and 5- year old children naturally exhibit in the kindergarten environment. The importance and the frequency of the sharing behavior were evaluated with respect to the total behaviors of pre-schoolers'. In the present study, specimen recording technique was used in order to provide the data of pre-schoolers' behaviors in their natural context. The naturally occurring behaviors of 16 pre-school children (8 males and 8 females) were observed by skilled observers Each observational period was about seven hours in length. The analysis of the specimen records demonstrated that the structure of pre-schoolers' behaviors was varied with respect to the subject constants. In the analysis of the specimen records in terms of the action modes; each subjects' social interaction with his/her associates were rated on both the subject's side and his/her associate's side for the degree of aggression, domi nance, resistance, submission, nurturance, appeal, avoidance, cooperation and sharing displayed. The results manifested that the most frequent pre-schoolers' interaction mode with their associates was“appeal”, the least frequent pre-schoolers' interaction mode with their associates was“sharing”.
