Özet (Çeviri)

This study investigates relationship between suicidal attempt and economy. Unemployment rate, real gross domestic product (Real GDP), poverty rate and divorce rate were used as independent variables, while the suicide rate is the dependent variable. U.S. quarterly data from 1999 to 2014 were obtained for the following variables. Overall, the data includes a total of 64 observations. U.S. was chosen as a sample country instead of other countries because US' population composes of a wide variety of racial groups. Moreover, United States of America is a country of freedom. People are freer in the U.S. compared with many other countries. A dynamic regression model was then created to check how all the independent variables affect the dependent variable after adjusting the data. Different regression models were created with different numbers of lags, and then the best regression model was picked. In addition, the regression model was tested with and without an error term, and the model with an error term yielded the more significant results. So, in this study a regression model with an error term would be used. Overall, this dynamic regression model's multiple R2 was estimated as 0.9431
