Özet
Amaç: Denizli ili merkezinde çalışan okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin yabancı cisme bağlı hava yolu tıkanıklığı konusundaki bilgi düzeylerinin ölçülmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmamızın evrenini Denizli il merkezinde çalışan 432 okul öncesi öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Çalışmamızın örneklemine 27 anaokulu ve ilköğretim okulunda çalışan 221 okul öncesi öğretmeni dahil edilmiştir. Örneklem grubuna, birinci kısımda kişisel bilgiler ve geçmiş deneyimler, ikinci kısımda yabancı cisme bağlı hava yolu tıkanıklığında yapılacak uygulamalara yönelik 28 soru bulunan bir anket uygulanmıştır. Anketler 22.10.2012–22.02.2013 tarihleri arasında 27 okulun her birine en az iki ziyaret yapılarak tamamlanmıştır. Sorulara verilen her doğru cevap bir puan olarak değerlendirilerek her anketin bilgi puanı değeri hesaplanmıştır. Sonuçlar SPSS istatistik programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analizde Mann-Whitney-U, Kruskal Wallis ve Lineer Regresyon testleri kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmada 189 öğretmene ulaşılmıştır. Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 33,5±5,3'dür. Meslekteki çalışma yılı ortalaması 10,7±5,4'dür. Örneklem grubunun %86,6'sı evli, %77,7'si çocuk sahibidir. Anketlerden elde edilen bilgi puanı ortalaması 11,6±5,5'dir. Kişilerin %76,3'ü konu hakkında bilgi düzeyini yetersiz olarak değerlendirmiş ve %80,7'si konu hakkında eğitim almayı istediklerini belirtmiştir. Çalışmamız sonucunda kişinin yaşı, medeni durumu, meslek yılı, çocuk sahibi olup olmama durumu parametreleri ile bilgi puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır (p>0,05). Konu ile ilgili eğitim almış olanların almamış olanlara göre (p<0,01), okulda karşılaşabilecekleri acil durumlarla ilgili eğitim almak istemeyenlerin, eğitim almak isteyenlere göre (p=0,02), iki ve üzerinde çocuk sahibi olanların çocuk sahibi olmayan veya bir çocuk sahibi olanlara göre bilgi puanı ortalamaları anlamlı düzeyde yüksektir (p=0,01). Sonuç: Okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin yabancı cisme bağlı hava yolu tıkanıklığı konusunda bilgi eksikliğinin olduğu tespit edilmiş, öğretmenlerin de bu konu ile ilgili eksikliklerinin farkında olduğu, eğitim almak istedikleri ortaya çıkmıştır.

Aim: This study aimed to determine the degree of awareness of the preschools teachers working in Denizli city center on the issue of occlusion of respiratory tract due to foreign body. Material and Method: The study universe consisted of 432 preschool teachers working in Denizli. A sample of 27 preschools employing more than 5 preschool teachers including a total of 221 preschool teachers participated in the study. A questionnaire was applied between 22/10/2012 and 22/02/2013 by visiting each school at least twice. In the first part of the questionnaire, the participants were asked to answer some questions about demographics and past experiences and then in the following part, they answered 28 questions about what to do in case of witnessing foreign body aspiration in the respiratory tract. Each correct answer added one point to his/her final score. Final scores of the participants were examined by using SPSS, statistical software. In the analysis, Mann-Whitney-U, Kruskal Wallis and Linear Regression tests were used. Findings: We collected 189 questionnaires. The average (±SD) age of the participants was 33.5±5.3 years and the average work experience was 10.7±5.4 years. Of the teachers, 86.6% were married, 77.7% had children, 76.3% finding themselves having insufficient knowledge about the issue, and 80.7% were willing to have more training about the issue. The average (±SD) final score of the teachers was 11.6±5.5 points.. We did not observe any statistical relationship between the final score and some parameters namely the participants' age, marital status, experience in the job, and having children. However, the level of awareness of the participants who were previously trained on the issue (p<0.01), willing to have more training (p=0.02), and had two or more children (p=0.01) were meaningfully higher. Conclusion: This study found that the preschool teachers had insufficient knowledge about the issue of occlusion of respiratory tract due to foreign body and that the teachers were aware of this insufficiency, and thus they were willing to have more training on this issue.
