SUMMARY In this study, relationship between the organisation and the environment, and the role press in this relationship has been searched for within the framework of BELKO Limited Company case. The below - given hypotheses have been tested by using observation within the organization and press scanning techniques: 1 - Public relations activities cannot be performed on an organized basis in the early years of establishment. 2 - Public need for information is continuous. In case that this need is not satisfied by the organization it self, press - by it is very nature - will satisfy this need spontaneously. 3- When the organizations complate their establishment, public relations activities are performed in a much more conscious way and the relations with press starts to gain much more importance. Considering the case of BELKO LTD. CO., priority given to organization of commodity and service units in the early years of establishment can be found reasonable. But when the specific charecteristics of the organization and public are 133considered, it is observed that a strong and a widespread public information had been necessary from the very begininng. After the establishment of the organization has been comleted, organization of public relations activities, as well as the follow-up of the relations with press within these activites becomes very necessary. These findings support the hypotheses under consideration to a great extend. 134
