Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı; fen ve teknoloji dersinde fiziksel ve kimyasal değişim konusunu, yapılandırmacı yaklaşımı temel alan sorgulayıcı öğretim yöntemi ile öğrencilere sunarak bu yöntemin öğrencilerin akademik başarısı ve fen ve teknoloji dersine yönelik tutum konusunda etkisini yine yapılandırmacı yaklaşımı temel alan 5E modeli ile karşılaştırarak incelemektir.Çalışmanın örneklemini, Geyve Ahmet Yesevi İlköğretim Okulu'ndan 30 kişi ve Geyve Doğantepe YİBO' dan 30 kişi olmak üzere toplam 60 kişi oluşturmaktadır. Uygulama 2008-2009 eğitim-öğretim yılının birinci döneminde gerçekleştirilmiştir.Uygulama, haftada dört ders saatini kapsayacak şekilde, üç hafta boyunca yapılmıştır. Fiziksel ve kimyasal değişim konusu Deney 1 grubunda sorgulayıcı öğretim yöntemi, Deney 2 grubunda ise 5E modeli ile araştırmacı tarafından uygulanmıştır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak, Fiziksel ve Kimyasal Değişim Başarı Testi ve Fen ve Teknoloji Dersi Tutum Ölçeği olmak üzere iki ölçekten yararlanılmıştır.Çalışma sonucunda elde edilen veriler, sorgulayıcı öğretim yönteminin 5E modeline göre öğrencilerin akademik başarısını daha fazla arttırdığını göstermiştir. Fakat her iki yöntemin de son test puanlarına bakıldığında fen ve teknolojiye yönelik tutum üzerinde anlamlı bir farklılığın olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The aim of this study is to analyze the topic called physical and chemical changes in the science and technology lesson by presenting students applying the constructivist approach ,which is grounded on inquiry based teaching, so as to compare its efficiency with the 5E model, also grounded on the constructivist approach, by means of student academic success and attitudes towards science to exist in both methods.The participants of this case study are composed of 30 students from the Geyve Ahmet Yesevi Primary School and 30 students from Geyve Primary Boarding School, which accounts for 60 students.The case study was conducted at the first term of 2008-2009 teaching year.The case study had been conducted for 3 weeks with 4 lessons per week tempo. The topic of physical and chemical changes was carried by the researcher applying the Inguiry teaching in the experiment 1 group and applying the 5E model in the experiment 2 group.Two scales, physical and chemical changes improvement test and the attitude scale in science and technology, were applied in order to derive data from the case study.The data acquired through the resarch shows that the inquiry teaching method increases the academic success of the students more than the 5E model. However; when the final attidute test scores of the groups taught with either method were evaluated, no meaningful differences were recorded
