Özet
Araştırma ile orta öğretim kurumlarında görev yapan coğrafyaöğretmenlerinin ve diğer öğretmenlerin öğretmenlik tutumlarının incelenmesiamacıyla yapılmıştır.Orta öğretim kurumlarında görev yapan coğrafya öğretmenlerinin vediğer öğretmenlerin öğretmenlik tutumları, cinsiyete, yaşa, medeni duruma, görevyaptıkları okul türüne, branşlarına, sınıf mevcuduna, mesleki deneyime, mezunoldukları eğitim kurumuna, mesleği isteyerek seçip seçmemeye, görev yapılankurumda çalışma süresine, aylık gelir düzeyine, çocuk sayılarına, doğdukları yere,stanbul'da yaşama sürelerine göre incelenmiştir.Araştırmanın evrenini, stanbul ilindeki orta öğretim kurumlarındagörev yapan öğretmenlerin tümü oluşturmaktadır.Örneklem ise, stanbul ilinde Kartal, Maltepe, Pendik, Tuzlailçelerindeki orta öğretim kurumlarında görev yapan Coğrafya, Matematik, Fizik,Kimya, Biyoloji, Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı, Tarih, ngilizce, Rehber, Beden Eğitimi,Resim, Müzik Öğretmenlerinden random yoluyla seçilmiş 304 kişidenoluşmaktadır.Araştırmada tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplamakamacıyla Öğretmenlik Tutumları Ölçeği ve Anket kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadanelde edilen verilerin istatistiksel analizinde, aritmetik ortalama ve standart sapmahesaplamaları, t testi, varyans analizi ve Pearson Moment Çarpım Katsayılarıkullanılmıştır.Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar şöyle özetlenebilir:1. Orta öğretim kurumlarında görev yapan coğrafya öğretmenlerinin vediğer öğretmenlerin öğretmenlik tutumlarının orta değerin biraz üzerindedir. Ortaöğretim kurumlarında görev yapan coğrafya öğretmenleri ve diğer öğretmenlerolumlu tutuma sahiptirler.2. Orta öğretim kurumlarında görev yapan coğrafya öğretmenlerinin vediğer öğretmenlerin öğretmenlik tutumlarında medeni duruma göre, aylık gelirdüzeyine göre anlamlı farklılaşmalar tespit edilmiştir.3. Orta öğretim kurumlarında görev yapan coğrafya öğretmenlerinin vediğer öğretmenlerin öğretmenlik tutumları ile stanbul'da yaşama süreleri arasındailişki bulunmuştur.4. Orta öğretim kurumlarında görev yapan coğrafya öğretmenlerinin vediğer öğretmenlerin öğretmenlik tutumları cinsiyete, yaşa, görev yaptıkları okultürüne, branşlarına, sınıf mevcuduna, mesleki deneyime, mezun oldukları eğitimkurumuna, mesleği isteyerek seçip seçmemeye, görev yapılan kurumda çalışmasüresine, çocuk sayılarına, doğdukları yere göre anlamlı farklılıklargöstermemiştir.Elde edilen sonuçlar dikkate alınarak şu öneriler yapılmıştır:1. Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından belirli dönemlerde öğretmenlere,öğretim yöntem ve teknikleri, öğretmenlik tutumları, coğrafya öğretimi gibialanlardaki son gelişmeleri ve teknolojiyi yakından takip etmeleri için her türlüimkan sağlanarak, hizmet içi eğitim ve seminerler verilmelidir. Coğrafyaöğretmenleri bu konularda bilinçlendirilmelidir.2. Orta dereceli okullarımızda coğrafya derslerinin bir kısmı, coğrafyaöğretmenliği bölümünden mezun olmayan meslek dışı öğretmenler tarafındanyürütülmektedir. Coğrafya eğitiminin hedeflerinin gerçekleşmesi için MEBtarafından sadece coğrafya öğretmenliği bölümünden mezun olan öğrencileratanmalıdır.

With this research, it has been aimed to observe the teaching techniquesof geography teachers and other teachers working for high schools.Teaching techniques of these teachers working for high schools havebeen observed according to their sex, age, marital status, kinds of schools theywork for, schools they graduated from, choosing the profession voluntarily or not,working periods at schools in which they work for, monthly incomes, number ofchildren they have, places of birth and lifetime in Istanbul.The universe of the research has been formed by all the teachersworking at high schools in stanbul.The model consists of 304 teachers of Geography, Maths, Physics,Chemistry, Biology, Turkish Language and Literature, History, English,Psychological Guidance, Physical Education, Art and Music working at highschools in Kartal, Maltepe, Pendik, and Tuzla in stanbul, who has been chosenrandomly.In this study, scanning method has been applied. To gather data,Teaching Manner Scale and Questionnaire (Personal Information Form) have beenused. In statistical analysis of the accumulated data; arithmetic average andstandard deviation calculation, t test, ANOVA and Pearson Moment CorrelationCoefficient techniques have been used.We can sum up the conclusions drawn from the study as follows;1. Teaching attitudes of the teachers, including the teachers ofGeography, working at high schools are a bit above the average. Geographyteachers and other teachers working at high schools have positive attitudes.2. In terms of teaching behaviors, the teachers have shown significantdifferences considering their marital status and monthly incomes.3. It has been concluded that there is a correlation between teachingattitudes of geography teachers and other teacher and their lifetime in Istanbul.4. Teaching attitudes of the teachers working at high schools haveshown significant differences referring to their sex, age, school types they workfor, their branches, numbers of students in classes, professional experiences,choosing the profession voluntarily or not, working periods at schools, numbers ofchildren and places of birth.Considering the results taken from the research we can make thesesuggestions:1. At certain periods teachers should be given professional seminars bythe Ministry of Education aiming at enlarging their knowledge of innovations andtechnological studies on teaching methods and techniques, attitudes, teachingGeography etc. Geography teachers should be made conscious of these subjects.2. In our high schools, some parts of the Geography lessons have beentaught by the teachers who did not graduate from the Geography Departments ofthe faculties at universities. Those who are irrelevant to the subject may hinderreaching the aims of the lesson so the students graduated from the GeographyDepartment should be appointed by the Ministry.
