Özet
ÖZET Sınıf yönetimi genel olarak sınıfta etkili bir eğitim ve öğrenme ortamının sağlanması ve sürdürülmesi olarak görülebilir. Öğretim çalışmaları açısından en önemli unsurların başında sınıf yöntemi gelir; çünkü sınıf iyi yönetilebildiği ölçüde öğretimde verim ve başarı elde edilebilir. Sınıf yönetiminin bu öneminden dolayı adından yeni yeni söz edilmeye başlanan bu alanda çalışma yapmaya gereksinim duydum. Çalışmada özellikle sınıf içi kurallar, sınıf ortamı, sınıfta öğrenme ortamının iyileştirilmesi, sınıf yönteminde başvurulan yaklaşımlar, sınıf içerisinde karşılaşılan davranış problemleri ve bunları düzeltme stratejileri, iletişim ve sınıfta motivasyon, üniversite eğitimi, temel sorunları ve eleştirel düşünme konulan detaylı olarak incelenmiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacı sınıf yönetiminin öğrenciler ve öğretmenler açısından değerlendirilmesi; öğretmenin ve öğrencilerin demografik özelliklerinin sınıf yönetiminde etkili olup olmadığım araştırılması; ve öğretim sürecinde eşitlik, kurallardaki açıklık ve farklı öğretim yöntemlerinin hem öğrenciler hem de öğretmenlerin bakış açılan ele alınarak örtüşüp örtüşmediklerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmamın daha nitelikli olmasını sağlamak için öğretmen ve öğrencilerin sınıf yönetimine bakış açılarını izleyebileceği bir anket oluşturularak Boğaziçi, Bilgi ve Maltepe üniversitelerinde okuyan 41 hazırlık öğrencisi ve 40 hazırlık öğretim görevlisi üzerinde uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS programı kullanılmıştır. Anketi cevaplayan öğrenci ve öğretmenlerin demografik özellikleri incelendikten sonra t-test, ANOVA ve korelasyon yöntemleri uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğretmenin ve öğrencilerin demografik özelliklerinin sınıf yönetiminde etkisinin olmadığı, ayrıca öğrencilerin öğretmenlerini değerlendirdikleri anketlere göre öğretmenlerinin sınıf yönetimi performansından çoğunlukla memnun olduklarım yalnız ders işleyişi sırasında seçenek sunumu konusunda bazı yetersizliklerin yaşandığı saptanmıştır. Bu çalışmamın başta öğretmen adayları olmak üzere, görevi eğitim ve öğreticilik olan her düzeydeki uygulamacılara yararlı olmasını diliyorum.

ABSTRACT Classroom management is generally the process of mamtaining and sustaining an effective educational and learning environment in the class. With regards to the studies of teaching classroom management is one of the main elements since productivity and success can be attained to the extent that the class is managed well. Due to its importance classroom management studies began to flourish. This is the underlying reason directing me to analyze and study classroom management. In the study the subjects of rules in the classroom, the classroom environment, improvement of the learning environment in the classroom, approaches utilized in classroom management, behavioral problems encountered in the classroom and the related correction strategies, communication and motivation in the classroom, university education, its basic problems and critical thinking are analyzed in detail. The aim of the current study is to evaluate classroom management from the perspective of the students and the teachers; to understand whether the demographic features of the teachers and the students are effective in classroom management; and to analyze the subjects of equality, clarity of the rules and utilization of different teaching methods during the process of teaching to see whether they match with the opinions of the students and the teachers. To add more quality to the study a questionnaire is designed to trace the attitudes of the teachers and the students towards classroom management and it is administered to the 41 prep school students and 40 teachers in the prep schools of Boğaziçi, Bilgi and Maltepe universities. SPSS program is used for the analyses of the data obtained. After examining the demographic features of the students and the teachers, t-tests, ANOVA and correlations analyses are conducted. At the end of the research it is seen that the demographic features of the students and the teachers did not have a significant impact on classroom management, that the questionnaire findings revealed out that evaluations of the teachers by their students indicated that they were generally happy with their classroom management performances, but that there were certain inadequacies regarding the presentation of choices to the students during the lectures. It is my conviction that this study will be of help basically to the teacher candidates and also to anyone at any level whose profession is applied education and teaching. IX
