Özet

Xİİ ÖZET Fen dersinin, eğitim sürecindeki yeri ve önemi kabul edilen bir gerçektir. Günümüzde ilerleyen teknolojinin sonucu olarak fen bilimleri etkin hale gelmektedir. Bu yüzden fen bilgisi eğitimi daima daha verimli hale getirilmelidir. Sağlıklı bir eğitim, doğru uygulanmış değerlendirmelerle başarıya ulaşır. Uygulanan eğitim süreci kadar, bu sürecin değerlendirilmesi de önemlidir. Tüm eğitimsel çalışmalarda elde edilen sonuçlar değerlendirme sayesinde olumlu ve olumsuz yanlarıyla ortaya konulabilir. Bu çalışma, ilköğretim 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin sınıf içi gelişimlerinin izlenmesinin öğrenci başarısına etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu düşünceyle önce fen bilgisi eğitiminde ölçme ve değerlendirme yöntemleri üzerine yapılmış çalışmalar incelendi. Daha sonraki aşamada ise 7. sınıf öğrencilerinden 24 kişilik bir çalışma grubu belirlendi. Bu gruba konulara göre hazırlanmış etkinlikler uygulandı. Gelişimleri öntest ve sontest kullanılarak tespit edildi. Öğrencilerle birebir görüşmeler yapıldı. Yöneltilen sorulara verilen yanıtlar kayıt cihazı ile kaydedilip deşifre edildi. Çalışmada elde edilen veriler ile öğrenci gelişimlerinin öğrenci, veli ve öğretmen tarafından takip edilmesinin öğrenci başarısına etkisi tartışmaya açıldı.

Xlll ABSTRACT The importance and the position of Science Education Course in educational process is a reality accepted. Nowadays, natural sciences have been activated as a result of technology developing. For this reason, science education should be always made more productive. A sound and healthy education can catch up success with evaluations that are rightly applied. The evaluation of the process is important as well as educational process. The negative and positive sides of the results gathered through educational studies can be revealed by evaluation procedures. The study aims at examining the effects of observing seventh grade students' development in classroom on their success. Depending on the aim stated, first of all, the research studies related to measurement and evaluation in science education were examined. Later on, a group of 24 students from seventh grade were sampled for the study to be carried out. To the sample of 24 students, the activities prepared by considering course topics were given. Students' development was determined by using pre- and post-tests. Further, individual interviews were conducted with students. Tape-recorder was used during interviews and then, the cassettes were transcribed verbatim. Based upon the data obtained through the study, the effects of observing students' development by students, parents and teachers on students' success were opened to discussion.
