ÖZET FEN BİLGİSİ DERSİNDE UYGULAMALARIN YERİ VE ÖNEMİ KURT, Turgut Yüksek Lisans Tezi, İlköğretim Fen ve Matematik Alanları Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı Tez Danışmanı: Yrd. Doç. Dr. Atilla TEMUR Ekim 2003, 66 sayfa Bu çalışmada, ilköğretimin ikinci kademesinde 8. sınıflar için fen bilgisi dersinde yapılan uygulama faaliyetlerine karşı öğrencilerin tutamlan, cinsiyetleri, bunların öğrenci başarılarına etkileri ve fen bilgisi laboratuar araç-gereçlerinin kullanım oranlan incelenmiştir. Araştırma denekleri, Van ili Eminpaşa, Şehit Kemal Görgülü ve Fevzi Çakmak İlköğretim okullannın 8. sınıflannda okuyan 170 öğrenciden oluşmuştur. Araştırma 2002-2003 eğitim ve öğretim birinci yanyılında gerçekleşmiştir. Araştırmanın amacına göre deney ve kontrol grubu olmak üzere iki grup oluşturulmuştur. Grupların cinsiyet ve başanlanna göre denk olduklan görülmüştür. Deney grubu fen bilgisi dersini tamamen laboratuvarda ve modern fen programına göre işlemiştir. Kontrol grubu ise klasik fen programına göre çoğunlukla sınıflarda işlemiştir. Gruplara dönem sonunda laboratuvar tutum ölçeği anketi uygulanmıştır. Deney grubuna aynca kullanılan araç-gereç anketi ve mülakat yapılmıştır. Yapılan araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, fen bilgisi dersinde yapılan uygulamaların öğrencilerin tutumlannı olumlu düzeyde etkilediği, ilgilerini arttırdığı, ancak öğrencilerin tutumlarının cinsiyetlerine bağlı olmadığı ve laboratuvarda soyut görsel sembollerin çok kullanıldığı sonucuna vanlmıştır.

ABSTRACT THE PLACE AND IMPORTANCE OF THE APPLICATIONS' IN SCIENCE LESSON KURT, Turgut MSc., Primary education Mathematics and Sciences Education Primary Science Branch Supervisor: Asst. Prof. Dr. Atilla TEMUR October 2003, 66 pages In mis research, In spite of having done application activities on the second level primary school for 8 classes in Science Lesson. Students' attitudes, sexualities and the feet of theirs to the students' success and the proportions of using the Science Laboratory equipments, were investigated. The survey was applied on 170 primary school students who study in the 8 classes at Eminpaşa, Şehit Cemal Görgülü and Fevzi Çakmak primary schools in VAN. The Investigation was practiced in 2002-2003 academic scholastic year, in The first term. According to the aim of research, two groups, experiment and control groups, were constituted. It was seen that the groups are identical on the basis of sex and success. The Experiment Group studied their Science Lesson, absolutely in Laboratory and according to the modern science programme. But the Group of control studied their lessons, generally in their classes, and according to the classic programme. A science Laboratory Attitude Scale questionnaire was practiced to the groups at the end of term. Also an Equipment questionnaire and an interview were practiced to the group of experiment. In the directions of the investigation that we had done and got findings. We came to a conclusion that; The practice which has been done in Science Lesson affected positively the students' attitudes, increased the students' interests, but also the students' attitudes are not related with their sexualities. Beside Abstract visual symbols were used mostly.
