Özet
11 ÖZET Bu çalışmada yetişkin bağlanma stilleri ile mekana bağlanma ve keşfetme yönelimi arasında bir ilişki olup olmadığı; varsa bu ilişkinin cinsiyete bağlı olarak değişip değişmediği incelemek amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Araştırmaya, Orta Doğu Teknik, Hacettepe ve Ankara üniversitelerinde okuyan 422 lisans ve yüksek lisans öğrencisi katılmışlardır. Katılımcılara, demografik özelliklerine ilişkin bilgi formu, İlişki ölçekleri Anketi (İÖA), Keşfetme Yönelimi Ölçeği ve Köktenlik ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Katılımcılar, İlişki ölçekleri Anketi' nden aldıkları puanlara göre, güvenli, saplantılı, korkulu ve kayıtsız olmak üzere dört bağlanma stilinden birinde sınıflandırılmışlardır. Araştırmanın amacı doğrultusunda, katılımcıların mekana bağlanmanın değişme isteği ve ev/aile tatmini alt boyutu puanlan ile genel olarak mekana bağlanma toplam puanlarına; ayrıca entelektüel keşfetme, fiziksel keşfetme ve sosyal keşfetme alt boyut puanları ile keşfetme yönelimi toplam puanlarına ayrı ayrı 2 (cinsiyet) x 4 (bağlanma stili) faktörlü araştırma desenine uygun varyans analizi uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, kayıtsız bağlanma stiline sahip bireylerin, güvenli bireylere göre daha düşük mekana bağlanma eğilimi gösterdiklerini göstermiştir, öte yandan, kız öğrencilerin keşfetme yönelimlerinin erkeklere göre daha yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur. Ayrıca, mekana bağlanma ile keşfetme yönelimi ve bu ölçeklerin alt boyutları arasında ve de bağlanma stilleri ile mekana bağlanma ve keşfetme yöneliminin alt boyutları arasında anlamlı ilişkiler olduğu saptanmıştır.

Ill ABSTRACT The present study was carried out to investigate the relationships among adult attachment styles, place attachment and exploration orientation. In addition, the effect of sex on these relationships was investigated. A total of 422 under and post graduate university students from Middle East Technical University, Hacettepe and Ankara universities, participated in the study. Demographic Information Form, Rootedness Scale, Exploration Orientation Scale and Relationships Scale Questionnaire were administered to the participants. Participants were assigned to one of the four attachment styles (secure, preoccupied, fearful, dismissing) based on the scores they obtained from the Relationships Scale Questionnaire. Participants' scores on desire for change and home/family satisfaction subscales of Rootedness Scale and on intellectual, physical, social exploration subscales of Exploration Orientation Scale were submitted to 2 (sex) X 4 (attachment style) analysis of variance. The results showed that participants with dismissing style have low place attachment as compared to participants with secure style. The results also showed that females have higher exploration orientation than males. In addition, it was found that general place attachment and its desire for change and home/family satisfaction dimensions were significantly related to general exploration orientation and its intellectual, physical, social exploration dimensions. Also, it was found that attachment styles were significantly related to place attachment and exploration orientation.
