Haraway'in Siborg Manifestosu bu tartışmanın politik yönünü derinleştirmektedir. Haraway'in Siborg'u, insan ile makine arasındaki sınırları bulanıklaştırarak özcülüğe dayalı kimlik anlayışlarını reddeder.
This study approaches the body not as a merely biological entity or a culturally inscribed representation, but as a material, technological, and political field of becoming. It questions the stability of gender and identity by treating them as historically contingent configurations that are continuously produced through performative acts. Within this framework, the body is understood not as a static datum but as a dynamic process that is constantly reconstituted within matrices of power, discourse, and matter. The research investigates the conditions of intelligibility that make the gendered subject recognizable, emphasizing that matter itself should not be regarded as a passive background, but rather as an active participant in processes of subjectivation. In this sense, identity emerges not solely through the regulatory effects of social norms but through the intra-actions among matter, physical theories, cultural imaginaries, and technological apparatuses. The theoretical orientation of the study is grounded in Karen Barad's new materialist philosophy, which challenges representational thinking and proposes the concept of diffraction as a way to overcome the ontological gap between matter and experience. Instead of conceiving reality as a reflection of external objects, this perspective understands existence as a set of internal, self-producing interactions. Representation, in this view, is replaced by entanglement. This ontological shift provides a fruitful ground for rethinking the transition from the analog to the digital without framing this transition as a linear or hierarchical progression. The analog world operates through reflection and continuity, assuming that meaning or signal fidelity lies in the accurate mirroring of an external form. In contrast, the digital operates through diffraction—through discontinuities, differences, and the encoding of variation. These modes should not be understood as stages of advancement, but as distinct ontological regimes with different material logics. Each quantization, each sampling, becomes a moment where matter reconfigures itself through technical mediation. Within this framework, digital embodiment represents the material manifestation of this transition. The body, entangled with interfaces, devices, and streams of data, ceases to be a closed biological system and becomes a site of continuous reconfiguration. Online navigation—commonly perceived as a cognitive or informational act—is here reinterpreted as a material performance, a form of diffractive existence through which the body interacts with and is transformed by digital flows. The user, the machine, and the interface are not separate entities but components of a shared process of becoming. This reconceptualization displaces the dualistic notions of subject and object, replacing them with an understanding of relational emergence in which the body itself becomes an expressive surface of interaction. The study extends this ontological rethinking to the political dimension by engaging with Haraway's“Cyborg Manifesto.”Haraway's cyborg figure dissolves the boundaries between human and machine, organic and inorganic, male and female, nature and culture. The Cyborg thus rejects essentialist notions of identity and opens up a space for hybrid and intersectional forms of agency. Within the context of digital embodiment, the Cyborg is not merely a material assemblage but a political terrain where power, materiality, and representation intersect. Every digital act—each click, gesture, or transmission—reconfigures the boundaries of the self, creating micro-political negotiations of identity and difference. In this sense, the cyborg body performs a feminist intervention within digital space by challenging the reflective logic of representation and instead enacting a diffractive, material mode of becoming. By bringing Barad's diffractive ontology into dialogue with Haraway's feminist politics, this research argues that digital is not merely technical infrastructure but ontological agent that shape modes of perception, embodiment, and intelligibility. The analog-digital divide, when reconsidered through this lens, reveals not a linear technological evolution but a transformation in the very structure of material experience. The digital, in its discontinuities and differentiations, becomes the material condition through which new forms of embodiment—and consequently, new forms of subjectivity—emerge. Thus, the study situates itself within contemporary debates on digital ontology and new materialism, proposing that the body in the digital age is a site of political negotiation. Ultimately, this work contributes to a broader philosophical understanding of the entanglement between matter and subjectivity. By reframing the Cyborg body as a diffractive node within complex material-discursive processes, it challenges the representational habits that separate the human from the technological, the organic from the computational. Cyborg body, rather than mirroring the world, actively participates in its continuous reconfiguration. In doing so, the study conceives the digital not as an abstract domain of data, but as a living field in which matter and intelligibility are continuously co-constituted.
