Özet
Ill ÖZET Bu çalışma, günümüzde bölge ülkelerinin karşılaştığı temel meselelere dayanarak Orta Asya'nın çevre problemlerini incelemektedir. Çalışma, çevre problemlerini çözmek için uluslararası ortak girişimin gerekliliğini güvenlik ve "İşbirliği yaklaşımıyla açıklamayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma beş bölümden oluşmaktadır. İlk bölümde, Orta Asya'daki problemleri daha kolay anlaşılabilir hale getirmek için dünyadaki ekolojik sorunlara genel bir bakış sunulmuştur. İkinci bölüm Orta Asya'daki uyuşmazlıkların genel çıkış noktalarına ve bölgenin genel tanımlamasına ayrılmıştır. Örneğin; Rusya'nın dış politikası ve uyuşmazlık çözümü yaklaşımı ve bölge ülkelerinin güvenlik endişeleri. Bölgedeki sorunların tarihsel temelleri ise üçüncü bölümde ifade edilmektedir. Bu bölümde problemlerin temel sebepleri gösterilmektedir. Dördüncü bölüm ise Orta Asya bölgesinde ortaya çıkan temel ekolojik problemleri açıklamaktadır. Bu bölümde problemlerin boyutu ve ne gibi etkiler doğurduğu örneklerle gösterilmektedir. Son olarak beşinci bölüm, Orta Asya'da ve dünyanın diğer bölgelerinde ortaya çıkan ekolojik sorunları çözmek için uluslararası toplumun ortak girişimini ve bölgesel politikaları açıklamaktadır. İşbirliği ve çözüm projelerinin gerekliliği ise ileriye dönük tahmin ve önerilerle ele alınmıştır.

ABSTRACT This study examines the environmental problems in the Central Asia region by relying on the major issues confronting the countries in the region today. The study aims to explain the necessity of international endeavor to resolve environmental problems with a security and cooperation approach. - The study is divided into five parts. In the first part, an overview of the ecological problems in the world is presented to make the problems in Central Asia easily understood. The second part is devoted to explain the general rising points of the conflicts in Central Asia, and an overlook to the region. For instance, Russia's emerging foreign policy and its approach to conflict resolution, and the security concerns of the countries in the region. Then the historical roots of the problems in the region are stated in the third part. The main causes of the problems are expressed in this part. The fourth part is explaining the main ecological problems emerging in the Central Asia region. In this part, the effects and magnitudes of the problems expressed with examples from the region. Finally, part five expresses the common endeavor of the international society and the regional policies to resolve the ecological problems occurring in Central Asia and the other regions of the world. The necessity of the management projects and cooperation has been dealt with future predictions and recommendations.
