Özet
Özet Bu çalışmada uluslararası ilişkiler kuramında bilimsellik sorununu incelemek için, uluslararası ilişkilerin bilimsel kuramı olduğu iddia edilen yenigerçekçi kuramı incelemeye aldım. Yenigerçekçi kuramın disiplinin doğru (bilimsel olarak yeterli) yada yanlış kuramı olması sorununu sorgularken, bu çalışma kuramın bilimsel temellerine odaklanır. îndirgemeciliğin karşıtı olarak, uluslararası ilişkilerin sisteme ait kuramı olan yenigerçekçi kuramın uluslararası ilişkilerin karmaşık doğasını kuramlaştırabilmek için bazı eksikliklerine rağmen doğru yolda olduğu söylenebilir. Sorun, yenigerçekçiliğin kavramlaştırdığı sistemin durağan oluşu; ve bu çalışma kaos kuramlarının yardımıyla alternatif (sistem anlayışı) geliştirmeye çalıştı. Sistem sorununa ek olarak, yenigerçekçiliğin anarşi, güç gibi başka bazı sorunlu kavramları da incelenebilir. Burada, gerçekliği kavrayabilmek için yenigerçekçiliğin bilgi kuramsal ve bilgi bilimsel temelleri önemli hale gelir. Bu noktada, farklı ve olguculuk sonrasına ait gerçekliğin sosyal olarak kurulma olgusunu vurgulayan bir gerçeklik anlayışı önerilebilir. Verilen bu fikirler çerçevesinde, bu çalışmayı tamamlamak için, ilkin, genel olarak bilim anlayışı ve onun değişimi hakkında felsefi bir çatı hazırladım. îkinci bölümde, birinci bölümde hazırlanan felsefi çatının yardımıyla, doğrudan yenigerçekçilik ve onun temel kavramlarının eleştirisiyle uğraştım. Ayrıca, bu bölümde, yenigerçekçi kuramla karşılaştırabilmek için uluslararası ilişkilerin alternatif kuramlarım inceledim. Üçüncü bölümde, uluslararası ilişkiler kuramında bilim sorununu yeniden ele alarak buraya kadar geliştirilen 137fikirleri birleştirmeye çalıştım. Son olarak, dünya politikasını daha iyi anlayabilecek bir kuramın olası biçimini arayarak bu çalışmayı tamamladım. 138

İngilizce Özet (Abstract) In this work, to examine the science question in international relations theory, I took neorealist theory, which claimed to be the scientific theory of International Relations discipline, under scrutiny. In questioning the problem of whether neorealist theory is the true (scientifically sufficant) theory of the discipline or not, this work focuses on the scientific premises of it. As a systemic theory of international relations, as opposed to the reductionist, neorealism can be claimed in the right direction to conceptualize the complex nature of world politics, but with some deffects. The problem is that the system neorealism conceptualizes is a static one; and this work tried to articulate an alternative one with the helps of chaos theories. In addition to the system problem, some other problematic concepts of neorealism can be examined here, such as anarchy, power, etc. Here the epistemological and ontological bases of neorealism matter most to comprehend the reality. At this point, a diferrent, postpositivist understanding of reality emphasizing the social construction of it, can be proposed. Given these ideas, to complete this work, first, I articulated a general framework about the science conception and examined the changes of it. In the second section, I directly involved in the critique of neorealism and its basic concepts with the help of the framework developed in the first section. In this section, I additionally examined the alternative theories of international relations to compare with neorealism. In the third section, I tried to unify the ideas developed by now in reexamining the science question in international relations theory. Finally, I concluded this work in searching a possible shape of a better theory of world politics. 139 DOKfiMANTASVON
