Özet
238 ÖZET“Seyyid Bey ve Mustafa Sabri'ye Göre Hilâfet Meselesi”adını verdiğimiz bu çalışmamızda, konuyu hilâfet taraftarı gelenekçi din âlimi Mustafa Sabri ve bu makamın kaldırılmasını savunan modernist din âlimi Seyyid Bey cephesinden nasıl algılandığını mukayeseli olarak tahlile çalıştık. Hilâfet meselesi, ilk halife Hz. Ebu Bekir ile başlayan ve son halife Abdülmecid'e kadar uzanan, hilâfetin resmen kaldırıldığı 3 Mart 1924 tarihinden sonra da tartışılan bir konudur. İslâm tarihi bu makam uğrunda yapılan savaşlarla doludur. Çalışmamızda öncelikle kavramın tanımı ve tarihçesi işlenmiştir. Sonra iki din âliminin hayat hikâyeleri verilmiş, eserleri tanıtılmıştır. Daha sonra da hilâfet taraftarı gelenekçi Mustafa Sabri ile hilâfetin kaldırılmasını savunan modernist Seyyid Bey'in; hilâfetin tanımı, çeşitleri, şartları, hilâfetin saltanattan ayrılması ve kaldırılması konularındaki düşünceleri mukayese edilerek değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç bölümünde ise İslâm tarihi boyunca tartışmalı bir konu olduğunu belirttiğimiz hilâfet meselesine, gelenekçi ve modernist din âlimlerinin yaklaşımları tarafımızca değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca, hem her iki din âliminin hem de konumuzla alâkalı önemli239 şahsiyetlerin Osmanlı Türkçesiyle neşredilmiş eser, belge ve vesika niteliğindeki dokümanları tarafımızdan sadeleştirilerek metinler bölümüne konulmuş, bir kısmının asılları ekler kısmında sunulmuştur.

240 ABSTRACT In our thesis, which we called it as the problem of Caliphate according to Sayyid Bay and Mustapha Sabri, we tried to examine comparatively how a traditionalist religious scholar like Mustapha Sabri, who was the strict defender of the institution of caliphate and a modernist religious scholar, who defended the abolishment of the caliphate, treated the subject matter. The matter of caliphate is a long discussed establishment that beginninned with the first caliph Abu Bakr and ended with the last Ottoman caliph Abdulmajid in 3th March, 1924. It is still discussed matter even after its abolishment. The history of Islam is replete with wars which were made for the sake of this institution. Our study, first of all, deals with the definition and history of the concept of caliphate. After that, we have written down biographies of the two abovementioned scholars and given useful information about their works. Afterwards, we have compared their views concerning the definition of this institution, its varieties, conditions and also compared their thoughts about the separation of the caliphate from the sultanate and finally, its abolishment. In the last chapter, we have assessed the approaches of the traditionalist and modernist writers to the problem of caliphate, which was a discussed matter during its long history, as we241 have stated above. Furthermore, we have transformed some of their works and documants, which were written in Ottoman dialect, about the subject matter in to Turkish and added them in the section of texts and also added some others in their original forms in the Epilogue.
