200 SUMMARY Haksever, Ahmet Cahid: Ahmet Remzi Akyürek, his Life and Mystical Thought Supervisor : Doç. Dr. Ethem CEBECİO?LU The Mevlevî sect which was built by Mevlana exersized great influence on the life of Ahmet Remzi Akyürek. Since its establishment, there were close relations between Mevlevis and the other orders such as Bektashis, Bayramis, Rufais, Nakşbendis, Kadiris, Halvetis. Ibn Arabi' s monoideism has effected Mevlevis particularly. The other orders also spread among people but Mevlevis was prominent among the first class people. Throughout the history, the relations between Mevlevis and government were positive. After dismantling the Yeniçeris and Bektashi sect in the army, Mevlevis replaced the position of Bektashis. Life of Ahmet Remzi Akyürek is very important because it helps us understand the mentality of sufism both in the Ottoman Empire and Turkish Republic.201 I think the greatest speciality of Ahmet Remzi Akyürek is that he ried to consolidate intelligence and heart. IBs books which he translated from other languages and his original works shed light on the sufism of his time. He was very active during his life. He never paused or reated but worked for people. He has distinguished between two kinds of people: Literatists and esoterists and criticized the people who gave importance only to reason. He thinks that the wisdom comes only through consolidation of intelligence and the love of God. The searching for wisdom is natural. The wisdom without a mürşid is difficult. Order and wisdom must come from şeriat. Ahmet Remzi Akyürek' s monoideism indicates that the existence of God is real and cosmos's existence is relative to God. His thoughts about some problem of soul is the same as those of the other sufis. A person will understand God only after he understands himself. Evilsoul urges to person towards the bad acts. The repentence lead towards God. The repentence is valid not only by regreting but also performing the commands of God. DOKÜMANTASYON202 Everything in the world becomes meaningful with love of God. Love must be present in the search for wisdom. While he emphasizes that one must be disattached from the world, he also critisizes total isolation and ascetism. Human being must be involved with the world affairs but the world and its affairs should not become goals.
