Özet
ÖZET: Bu araştırmada“Changes 1”ders kitabı yardımcı materyalleri ile birlikte içerik ve biçim açısından incelenmiştir. Bu incelemede kitabı, ders kitabı olarak İngilizce derslerinde kullanan okutmanlar ve Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesi'nin birinci sınıfında olup, İngilizce dersini alan öğrencilere uygulanan anketlerle“Changes 1”ders kitabı değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma altı bölümden oluşmaktadır. Ayrıca, üç eki vardır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde araştırmanın amacı ve bu araştırmada kullanılan varsayımlar ve araştırmanın sınırlılıkları belirtilmiştir. Araştırmanın ikinci bölümünde genel olarak yabancı dil öğretim - öğrenim sürecinin özellikleri ve bu süreçteki dil becerilerinin edinimi anlatılmaktadır. Ayrıca dil öğretim yöntemleri kısaca ele alınmaktadır. Üçüncü bölümde ders kitabı değerlendirmesi ele alınmıştır. Dil öğretim sürecinin öğrenci - öğretmen, ders kitabı, izlence gibi önemli unsurları ve izlence türleri belirtilmiştir. Bu bölümde ders kitabı seçimi ve bir ders kitabında bulunması gereken nitelikler de yer almaktadır. Dördüncü bölümde araştırmanın yöntemi, yapılan anketlerin içeriği ve veri analizlerinin yapılış şekli yer almaktadır. 92Beşinci bölümde uygulanan anketlerden elde edilen veriler değerlendirilerek“Changes 1”ders kitabı ve yardımcı materyallerine ilişkin değerlendirmeler yapılmaya çalışılmıştır. Altıncı bölümde araştırmanın sonucu verilmiştir. Araştırmada yer alan eklerden birincisi öğrencilere uygulanan anket, ikincisi okutmanlara uygulanan ankettir. Üçüncü ekte ise“Changes 1”kitabının birinci ünitesi örnek olarak verilmiştir. 93

İNGİLİZCE ÖZET (ABSTRACT) In the course of this study,“Changes 1”and its suplementary materials are examined within the framework of its content and form. As a course book“Changes 1”is evaluated through the questionnaires applied to the students of the first class of the Faculty of Political Sciences and the lecturers using it in their courses. This study is composed of six chapters. And it has three appendices in addition to them. In the first chapter, the aim of the study, and plus the assumptions and limitations of the study are stated. In the second chapter, generally the specifications of the process of foreign language teaching and learning and the language skills are dealt with, where specifications of some major language teaching methods are denoted. The third chapter deals with the evaluation of coursebooks. Furthermore, some components of foreign language process such as student - teacher, course book and syllabus and its types are denoted. In this chapter, the selection of coursebooks and the qualities that must exist in a course book are stressed on. In chapter four; the method of study, the content of questionnaires and analysis of statistical data are summarized. 94In chapter five,“Changes 1”and its supplementary materials are examined by means of the evaluation of the data provided by the questionnaire forms, In chapter six, the conclusion of the study takes place. The first appendice in the study covers the questionnaire applied to the students. And the second appendice covers the questionnaire applied to the lecturers. In the third appendice, the unit one of“Changes 1”is given as an example. 95
