Özet
Konuşma bireyin duygu ve düşüncelerini sözler ile ifade etmesidir. Bu yönüyle yaşamın her aşamasında insanlar arasındaki en etkili iletişim aracı olarak konuşma gösterilebilir. İnsanların tüm yaşamını etkileyen ve günlük hayatta sıkça başvurulan bu becerinin geliştirilmesi büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı okuma çemberi yönteminin ilkokul 3. sınıf öğrencilerinin konuşma becerisi üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma ön test-son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel olarak yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2021-2022 öğretim yılı İstanbul ili Eyüpsultan ilçesinde bir devlet ilkokulunda devam eden 46 üçüncü sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veriler uygulama öncesi ve sonrası“Konuşma Becerisi Değerlendirme Rubriği”aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Araştırma sürecinde deney grubu öğrencileri ile Türkçe derslerinde dokuz hafta boyunca okuma çemberi yöntemi ile kitap okumaları yapılmıştır. Kontrol grubunda ise Türkçe dersleri Türkçe Öğretimi Programı çerçevesinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın verileri istatistik paket programı aracılığıyla değerlendirilmiştir. Verilerin öncelikle normal dağılım gösterip göstermediğini belirlemek amacıyla Shapiro-Wilk normallik testi yapılmıştır. Verilerin normal dağılım göstermediği durumlarda parametrik olmayan testlerden Mann Whitney-U testi uygulanmıştır. Normal dağılım gösteren verilerde ise parametrik fark testlerinden t-testi uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda deney ve kontrol gruplarının son test verileri değerlendirildiğinde deney ve kontrol grubu son testleri arasında anlamlı bir fark olduğu ve bu farklılığın deney grubu lehine olduğu görülmektedir. Görülen bu anlamlı farklılık ölçeğin alt boyutlarına göre değerlendirildiğinde okuma çemberi yönteminin“Dil ve Anlatım”ve“Sunum”alt boyutlarında sınırlı,“İçerik”boyutunda ise yüksek etki oluşturduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlar ışığında okuma çemberi yönteminin öğrencilerin konuşma becerilerini geliştirdiği söylenebilir.

Speech is the expression of an individual about feelings and words. With this aspect, speaking can be shown as the most effective communication tool between people at every stage of life. It is of great importance to develop this skill, which affects people's whole life and is frequently used in daily life. The aim of this research is to examine the effect of the literature circles on the speaking skills of primary school 3rd grade students. The research was carried out as a quasi-experimental with a pretest posttest control group. The study group of the research consists of 46 third grade students attending a public primary school in Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the research, the data were collected through the“Speaking Skills Evaluation Rubric”before and after the application. During the research process, book reading was done with the experimental group students in Turkish lessons for nine weeks with the literature circles method. In the control group, Turkish lessons were carried out within the framework of the Turkish Teaching Program. The data of the research were evaluated through the statistics package program. Shapiro-Wilk normality test was performed to determine whether the data showed a normal distribution or not. In cases where the data did not show normal distribution, Mann Whitney-U test was applied in nonparametric tests. On the other hand, t-test was applied for from parametric difference tests for normally distributed data. As a result of the research, when the post-test data of the experimental and control groups are evaluated, it is seen that there is a significant difference between the post-tests of the experimental and control groups and this difference is in favor of the experimental group. When this significant difference was evaluated according to the sub-dimensions of the scale, it was determined that the literature circles had a limited effect on the“Language and Expression”and“Presentation”sub-dimensions, and had a limited effect on the“Content”dimension. In the light of these results, it can be said that the literature circles method improves the speaking skills of the students.
