Özet
Amaç: Rinosinüzit toplumda prevalansı yüksek olan rinolojik hastalıklardan biridir. Rinolojik veya otolojik hastalıklar östaki tüp fonksiyonlarını olumsuz etkileyerek östaki tüp disfonksiyonuna sebep olabilmektedir. Östaki tüp disfonksiyonu bulunan hasta gruplarında işitme kaybı görülebilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, akut veya kronik rinosinüzit tanısının östaki tüp disfonksiyonuna ve işitme engellilik ve yetersizlik algısına etkisinin subjektif olarak Östaki Tüp Disfonksiyonu-7 Ölçeği ve Amsterdam İşitsel Yetersizlik ve Engellilik Anketi ile değerlendirilmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu çalışma KBB polikliniğine başvuran 33 akut rinosinüzit, 32 kronik rinosinüzit tanısı alan (deney grupları) ve 32 tanı almayan (kontrol grubu) gönüllü katılımcılarla gerçekleştirildi. Katılımcılar Olgu Rapor Formu'yla değerlendirildikten sonra Östaki Tüp Disfonksiyonu-7 Ölçeği ve Amsterdam İşitsel Yetersizlik ve Engellilik Anketi doldurtuldu. Çalışmada elde edilen veriler SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 22 programı kullanılarak ve bilgisayara kaydedilerek analiz edildi. Bulgular: Kontrol grubunda yer alan katılımcıların ÖTDÖ-7 ve AİYEA ölçek puanlarının akut rinosinüzit ve kronik rinosinüzit grubunda yer alan katılımcıların ölçek puanlarından daha düşük olduğu saptandı (p<0,05). Akut rinosinüzit ve kronik rinosinüzit deney grupları arasında ÖTDÖ-7 ve AİYEA ölçek puanları arasında ise anlamlı bir farklılık saptanmadı (p>0,05). Sonuç: Rinosinüzit östaki tüp fonksiyonlarını ve işitme algısını olumsuz etkileyerek östaki tüp disfonksiyonuna ve işitme algısında problemlere sebep olabilmektedir. Purpose: Rhinosinusitis is one of the rhinological diseases with a high prevalence in the community. Rhinological or otological diseases can negatively affect eustachian tube functions and cause eustachian tube dysfunction. Hearing loss can be seen in patient groups with eustachian tube dysfunction. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of the diagnosis of acute or chronic rhinosinusitis on eustachian tube dysfunction and perception of hearing impairment and disability subjectively with the Eustachian Tube Dysfunction Questionnaire (ETDQ-7) and the perception of hearing impairment with the Amsterdam Inventory for Auditory Disability and Handicap. Material and Methods: This study was carried out with volunteer participants, 33 of whom were diagnosed with acute rhinosinusitis, 32 with chronic rhinosinusitis and 32 who were not diagnosed (control), who applied to the otorhinolaryngology outpatient clinic. After the participants were evaluated with the Case Report Form, the Eustachian Tube Dysfunction Questionnaire (ETDQ-7) and the Amsterdam Inventory for Auditory Disability and Handicap were filled. All data were recorded on the computer in SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 22 and analyzed. Findings: It was determined that the participants in the control group had lower ETDQ-7 and Amsterdam Inventory for Auditory Disability and Handicap scale scores than the scale scores of the participants in the acute rhinosinusitis and chronic rhinosinusitis groups (p<0,05). A significant difference was not found between the acute rhinosinusitis and chronic rhinosinusitis experimental groups, on the other hand, between the ETDQ-7 and Amsterdam Inventory for Auditory Disability and Handicap scale scores(p>0,05). Results: Rhinosinusitis can cause eustachian tube dysfunction and problems in hearing perception by negatively affecting eustachian tube functions and hearing perception.
