Özet
ÖZET Bu araştırmada problem çözme yönteminin öğrenci başarısına etkisi bulunmaya çalışılmıştır. Bunun için deney ve kontrol grupları seçilmiştir. Problem çözme yöntemi ilköğretim 3. Sınıf hayat bilgisi dersinde“köyü tanıyalım”ünitesinde uygulanmıştır. Deney grubuna problem çözme yöntemi, kontrol grubuna geleneksel yöntem ile ders işlenmiştir. Deney grubundan 38, kontrol grubundan 38 öğrenciye ön ve son test uygulanmıştır. 1 -Deney ve kontrol grubunun ön test sonuçları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmamıştır. 2-Deney ve kontrol grubunun ön test ve son test sonuçlan arasında anlamlı fark bulunmuştur. 3 -Deney ve kontrol grubunun son test sonuçlan arasında anlamlı fark bulunmamıştır. 4- Deney ve kontrol grubunun ön test ve son test sonuçlarının farklarının arasında anlamlı fark bulunmuştur. 5- Araştırmanın sonucunda deney grubu öğrencileri, kontrol grubu öğrencilerinden daha başarılı olmuştur. Problem çözme yönteminin öğrenci başarısını arttırdığı ortaya çıkmıştır.

11 ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of problem solving method on students achievement on a course unit of life studies course at 3rd grade the tittle of the unit was“let us know the village”. For this purpose two groups were chosen as experiment and control groups the control group which composed of 38 students were taught by traditional method and experimental group which composed of 38 students were taughth by problem solving method. To determine the differences between two groups t test technique was applied and the following findings have been reached 1- There is no statistically significant difference between pre tests scores of experimet and control groups. 2- Meaningful difference was found between pre - past tests of experiment and control groups. 3 - Also a meaningful difference did not exist between the past test of experiment and control groups. 4 - More meaningful difference was found between the differences of the results of experiment and control groups. 5 - Finally, it was found that the experiment group students had seen more successful than the students in control group. So it can be said that the problem solving method is increasing students achivement.
