Over time, people's lives change and this change manifests itself in the field of literature, which is a human science. The inclusion of new changes in the field of literature is possible through genres such as poetry, novels, stories, as well as theoretically. One of the most popular literary theories today is the reception theory, which is one of the reader-oriented literary theories and arose in Germany in the 1960s. However, following this theory, some theories have been put forward. Nevertheless, the reception theory has not lost its value, especially under the influence of postmodernism, and continues to have an impact on literature. In this study extensive information was given about the reception theory, which theorized by Hans Robert Jauss, Stanley Fish and Wolfgang Iser. The points at which these three theorists differ from one another in terms of reception aesthetics were also mentioned. Literature, art, aesthetics, readers, and hermeneutics were also theoretically discussed in this study. In addition, some biographical information about Bertolt Brecht was given and Brecht's works, which were translated into the Turkish language and articles, dissertations, books, brochures, projects etc. written about Brecht in Turkey were listed. In addition, information was given on the epic theater, also known as dialectical theater, which was theorized by Bertolt Brecht. The traces of the epic theater in Turkey were followed. Bertolt Brecht, a playwright who influenced the history of worldtheater from the very beginning, entered Turkish theater especially from the 1960s, and a new era in Turkish theater began. Epic theater, which has some similar aspects to traditional Turkish theater, comes to this day by leaving the political atmosphere of the 1960s behind. This effect is not only limited to the theater, but also spreads to the cinema. After a short time Bertolt Brecht became one of the most famous German writers in Turkey and many of his works have been translated into Turkish. The aim of this work was to show how Brecht is perceived in Turkey and what he looks like from a literary didactic perspective. Attempts have been made to achieve this goal by reading articles, dissertations and books written in Turkey about Brecht. It was also outlined how Brecht is perceived in the media channels in Turkey. Many articles and dissertations on Brecht were reached. In all of these sources, Brecht was generally evaluated by Turkish writers and scholars from an aesthetic, educational and ideological point of view. It was tried to reach all sources as far as possible and to collect, interpret and express all opinions.
