Özet
Bu araştırmada farklı yöntemlerin bir arada kullanılmasıyla soyut bir konu olan mitoz- mayoz bölünme konusunun anlaşılmasının kolaylaştırılması amaçlanmıştır.“Mitoz- mayoz bölünme konularında laboratuvar destekli öğretiminin fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının başarılarına ve modellemelerine etkileri nelerdir?”ana problemine cevap aranmıştır. Araştırma nicel ve nitel araştırma yöntemlerinin bir arada kullanıldığı karma yöntemle yapılmıştır. Örneklem 2018/ 2019 eğitim öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Gazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği Anabilim Dalında öğrenim görmekte olan 72 ikinci sınıf öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada seçkisiz örnekleme yönteminden basit seçkisiz örneklem kullanılmıştır. Kontrol ve deney grubu rastgele seçilmiştir. Araştırmadaki veriler başarı testi çizim ve modelleme yöntemleri ile toplanmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarının hazır bulunuşluk seviyelerini ölçmek amacıyla konu ile ilgili 19 soruluk başarı testi uygulanmış ardından konu ile ilgili kavramları ve evreleri çizmeleri istenmiştir. Kontrol grubuna düz anlatım, deney grubuna laboratuvar tekniği kullanılarak konu aktarılmıştır. Ders sonrasında her iki gruba tekrar başarı testi uygulanmış, tekrar çizim yapmaları istenmiştir. Gruplardan mitoz ve mayoz bölünme evrelerini modellemeleri istenmiştir. Araştırmada mitoz- mayoz bölünme konusunun öğretiminde laboratuvar yönteminin etkili olduğu, modelleme ve çizim yönteminin başarı testini desteklediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

In this research, it is aimed to facilitate the understanding of cell division, which is an abstract subject, by using different methods together. An answer to the main problem“What are the effects of laboratory assisted teaching on mitosis-meiosis division on the success and modeling of pre-service science teachers?”has been sought. The research was conducted with a mixed method in which quantitative and qualitative research methods were used together. The sample consists of 72 second-year teacher candidates studying at Gazi University, Department of Science Education in the spring semester of 2018/ 2019 academic year. Simple random sampling from random sampling methods was used in the study. The control and experimental groups were randomly selected. The data in the research were collected by success test drawing and modeling methods. In order to measure the readiness level of the pre-service teachers, an achievement test of 19 questions was applied to the subject and then they were asked to draw the concepts and phases related to the subject. The subject was explained to the control group by using plain lecture and to the experimental group by using laboratory technique. After the lesson, success test was applied to both groups again and they were asked to draw again. The groups were asked to model the stages of mitosis and meiosis. In the research, it was concluded that the laboratory method was effective in teaching the subject of cell division, and the modeling and drawing method supported the achievement test. Suggestions were made in line with the findings obtained from the research.
