Özet
Dünya nüfusunun günden güne artış göstermesi, artan ihtiyaçları da beraberinde getirmiştir. İnsanlık tarihinin başlangıcından itibaren beslenme insan ihtiyaçlarının en başında gelmiş ve temel sorun olarak önemini her zaman korumuştur. Genel çerçevede beslenme ve gıda temini olarak karşımıza çıkan bu sorun mikro boyutta insanların yeterli ve dengeli beslenmesi, yeterli hayvansal gıda alması gibi başlıklarla karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Türkiye'nin en sorunlu sektörlerinden biri olan hayvancılık ve kırmızı et sektöründe yaşanan sorunların küresel bir bakışla ele alınıp tartışılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla 1980'den günümüze hayvan varlığı ve kırmızı et üretimi ve sektöre yönelik politikalar incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda üreticilerin bilgi ve eğitim yönünden yetersiz ve örgütsüz küçük aile işletmeleri şeklinde oluşu, yem ve diğer girdi maliyetleri ile başa çıkamayışları, yüksek girdilere rağmen alınan verimin düşük oluşu, genetik açıdan iyi olan materyallere kolaylıkla ve uygun fiyatlardan ulaşamama, çayır ve mera ıslahındaki problemler, hayvan hastalıkları ile baş edememe, veteriner ücretleri, kırmızı et üretiminin artan talebi karşılamaması gibi problemler olduğu görülmüştür.

The increase in the World population day by day brought increasing needs with it.From the beginning of human history, nutrition has been at the forefront of human needs and has always maintained its importance as a basic problem.This problem, which appears in the general framework as nutrition and food supply, is confronted with the headings such as adequate and balanced nutrition of people in micro dimensions and adequate animal food intake. In this study, it is aimed to discuss the problems experienced in the livestock and red meat sector, which is one of the most problematic sectors in Turkey, with a global perspective. For this purpose, animal existence and red meat production and policies have been examined since 1980. As a result of the study, the producers are in the form of unorganized small family businesses with insufficient knowledge and education, they cannot cope with feed and other input costs, the yield is low despite high inputs, the parallelism inability to reach genetically good materials easily and at affordable prices, problems in the meadow and pasture improvement. It has been observed that there are problems such as not being able to cope with animal diseases, veterinary fees, red meat production not meeting the increasing demand.
