Özet

Bu araştırma üniversite öğrencilerinin cinsel eğitime yönelik tutumlarının ve Cinsel Yolla Bulaşan Hastalıklar (CYBH) hakkındaki bilgi̇ düzeyini ölçmek amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın örneklemini bir vakıf üniversitesinde sağlıkla ilgili olmayan dört fakültesinde öğrenim gören 332 dördüncü sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Veriler Tanıtım Bilgi Formu, Cinsel Yolla Bulaşan Hastalıklar Bilgi Düzeyi Ölçme Formu ve Cinsel Eğitime Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği (CEYTÖ) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde SPSS (IBM SPSS Statistics 24) adlı paket programında; frekans, yüzde, ortalama değerleri, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H test ve Bonferroni düzeltmesi istatistikleri kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin cinsel/üreme sağlık konularını en çok arkadaşları ile konuştukları (%57.5), CYBH'lerden en çok AIDS/HIV'i duydukları (%62.3), CYBH'ler hakkında ilk bilgiyi internetten aldıkları (%45.6), cinsel konularla ilgili eğitimi sağlık kuruluşlarından almak istedikleri (%40.4), cinsel konularla ilgili eğitimi sağlık personelinden almak istedikleri ((%88.0) tespit edilmiştir. CYBH bilgi ortalamasının 58.93±21.28 olduğu, belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin CEYTÖ toplam puan ortalaması 57.88±14.33'dir. CYBH bilgi puanı ile CEYTÖ eğitimin yararlarına, cinsel sağlığa ilişkin görüşler alt boyutları ve toplam puanı arasında pozitif yönde, zayıf derecede ve istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ilişki tespit edilmiştir. CYBH bilgi puanı arttıkça, CEYTÖ eğitimin yararlarına, cinsel sağlığa ilişkin görüşler alt boyutları ve toplam puanı artacaktır. Öğrencilerin gelişim dönemlerine uygun kapsamlı bir cinsel sağlık eğitim programı uygulanması ve cinsel eğitime yönelik tutumlarını olumlu yönde artırılması ve üniversitelerde tüm öğrencilerin 'güvenli cinsel tutum ve davranışlar' konularını içeren dersin zorunlu veya seçmeli olarak müfredatta bulundurulması önerilmiştir.

This descriptive study was carried out to measure the attitudes of university students towards sexual education and determine their level of knowledge about sexually transmitted diseases (STD). The population of this study consists of 332 4th grade university students studying at four faculties other than the Faculty of Health Sciences. In gathering data, one Introductory Information form, as well as a form devised to measure the knowledge level of STD and an Attitude Scale towards Sexual Education (ASSE), was used. Evaluation of these data was achieved using SPSS (IBM SPSS Statistics 24) and performing frequency, percentage, mean values, the Mann-Whitney U test, the Kruskal-Wallis H test, and Bonferroni correction statistics. It was determined that the students talked about sexual/reproductory health issues mostly with their friends (57.5%), and that the STD disease which they had heard about most was AIDS (62.3%), and that it was thanks to the Internet that they acquired their first information about venereal diseases (45.6%). It was also revealed that they wished to be educated about sexual issues at health institutions (40.4%) and by health personnel (88.0%). The STD knowledge scores of the students were determined to be 58.93±21.28 while the total score of their ASSE was 57.88±14.33. A positive, weak, and statistically significant correlation was determined between the STD knowledge score and the benefits of education on ASSE, views as regards sexual health, and the total score. The higher their score of STD knowledge was, the bigger were the total score and the number of their views concerning ASSE and sexual health. Based on the results of the present study, it was suggested that a comprehensive sexual health education program that was suitable for the developmental stages of the students should be implemented and that a mandatory or an elective course including the subjects of "safe sexual attitudes and behaviors should be incorporated into the curriculum of universities to positively increase the attitudes of university students towards sexual education.
