Özet
Tarama modelinin kullanıldığı bu araştırmanın amacı, II. Meşrutiyet Dönemi'nde eğitimin sosyolojik yönü üzerinde duran eğitimcilerin karakter eğitimine ilişkin görüşlerini incelemektir. Bu genel amaç doğrultusunda araştırma kapsamına dâhil edilen eğitimcilerin seçiminde, Türk Sosyoloji Tarihi hakkında zengin bir içeriğe sahip olan Hilmi Ziya ÜLKEN'in Türkiye'de Çağdaş Düşünce Tarihi adlı kitabından faydalanılarak, II. Meşrutiyet Döneminde eserlerinde eğitimin sosyolojik yönünü vurguladıkları görülen 12 eğitimci araştırmaya dâhil edilmiştir. Buna ek olarak içerik açısından oldukça kapsamlı olan Yahya AKYÜZ'ün Türk Eğitim Tarihi adlı kitabı da incelenerek bu eğitimcilerin II. Meşrutiyet Dönemi'nde eğitimin toplumsal yönünü vurgulayan eğitimciler oldukları teyit edilmiştir. Ayrıca araştırma kapsamına dahil edilen eğitimcilerin seçiminde uzman görüşü de alınmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan verilerin toplanması doküman incelemesi yoluyla yapılmıştır. Toplanan veriler, betimsel analiz yaklaşımı kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda araştırmaya dahil edilen eğitimcilerin eserleri, 2005 yılında Sosyal Bilgiler Dersi Öğretim Programı'nda yer alan 20 adet değer üzerinden değerlendirilmiştir. Eğitimcilerin bu değerler üzerinden derlenen görüşleri bazı değişkenler açısından sınıflandırılmıştır. Bu değişkenler okul, öğretmen, aile, çevre ve öğretim programıdır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, II. Meşrutiyet Dönemi'nde eğitimin sosyolojik yönünü vurgulayan bu eğitimcilerin, karakter eğitimine değinirken en çok öğretmen ve okul değişkenlerine yer verdikleri görülmüştür.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the perspectives of the educators who emphasized the sociology in the Second Constitutionalist period on character education. In line with this objective, 12 educators that seemed to emphasize the sociology aspect of the education in their literary works in the Second Constitutionalist period were involved in the study by utilization of the book of Hilmi Ziya ÜLKEN named Türkiye'de Çağdaş Düşünce Tarihi, which has a rich content about the History of Turkish Sociology. Moreover, it was confirmed that these educators put emphasis on the social aspect of the education in the Second Constitutionalist period by analyzing the book of Yahya AKYÜZ named Türk Eğitim Tarihi, which has an extensive content. Furthermore, the expert opinion was considered through the selection of the educators in the study. The general survey model was applied as the research method in the study. The collection of the data was performed by the analysis of the documents. The collected data were analyzed with the descriptive analysis approach. Accordingly, the literary works of the chosen educators were evaluated by the 20-item value chart in the Curriculum of Social Sciences in 2005. The perspectives of the educators about these 20 values were classified into five variables. These variables were school, teacher, family, environment and curriculum. The results of this study demonstrate that these educators who emphasized the sociology in the Second Constitutionalist period mostly used the variables of the teacher and the school addressing the character education.
