Özet
Alternatif turizm çeşitlerinden olan inanç turizmi, dini vecibelerini yerine getirmek veya farklı nedenlerle kutsal olarak kabul edilen mekânların, turistler tarafından ziyaret edilmesiyle ülkelerin sosyo-ekonomik yönden gelişimini sağlayan önemli bir turizm çeşididir. Kutsal mekânlara olan merak ve bu kapsamda yapılan ziyaretler tarih öncesi dönemlerden günümüze kadar önemini koruyarak devam etmiştir. Çalışmada Kocaeli'nin köklü tarihi bir bütün olarak ele alınıp somut ve somut olmayan kaynakların tespit edilmesiyle inanç turizm faaliyetleri kapsamında hak ettiği konuma ulaşmasını sağlamak amaçlanmıştır. Bunun için de Kocaeli'ndeki turizm ve inanç turizm potansiyellerini bilen, gelişememesindeki engelleri belirleyip çözüm önerileri sunabilen, ilin inanç turizminde önem arz eden yapılarını belirleyerek bir rotanın oluşmasını sağlayabilecek bilgilere haiz turist rehberleriyle görüşülmüştür. Görüşmeden elde edilen verilerle Kocaeli'nin inanç turizm rotası belirlenmiş ve ölçekli harita üzerinde gösterilerek çalışmanın asıl amacına ulaşılmıştır. Nitel yöntem ilkelerine göre hazırlanan çalışmada verilere yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniğiyle ulaşılmıştır. Turist rehberleriyle yapılan görüşmeden elde edilen veriler betimsel analize tâbi tutularak Kocaeli'nde turizm ve inanç turizminin gelişebilmesine yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur. Daha önce Kocaeli'nin günümüze kadar gelen dini öğelerini, bir bütün olarak ele alıp inanç turizmine yönelik bir tez çalışması ve inanç turizm rotalarının belirlendiği bir çalışmaya rastlanmamış olması, hazırlanan bu teze özgünlük değeri katacağı ve literatür açısından da faydalı olacağı düşünülmektedir.

Faith tourism, which is one of the alternative tourism types, is an important type of tourism that provides the socio-economic development of countries as a result of visit the sacred places with different reasons or fulfilling religious duties by tourists. Curiosity and visits to the holy places within this scope continue from prehistoric times to the present day. In the study, it is aimed to ensure that Kocaeli reaches the position it deserves in tourism activities by considering the deep-rooted history of it as a whole and identifying concrete and intangible resources. Thus, tourist guides were interviewed who know the tourism and faith tourism potentials in Kocaeli, can identify the obstacles in their development and offer solutions, and have the knowledge to can determine the structures that are important in faith tourism to ensure the formation of a route. As a result of data obtained from the interview, the main purpose of the study was achieved by determining the faith tourism route of Kocaeli. In the study prepared according to the principles of qualitative method, the data were obtained by semi-structured interview technique. The data obtained from the interview with the tourist guides were subjected to descriptive analysis and suggestions were made for the development of tourism and faith tourism in Kocaeli. A thesis study dealing with religious elements of Kocaeli as a whole, and a study in which faith tourism routes have been determined have not been encountered before. Therefore, It is thought that this thesis prepared will add originality value and will be useful in terms of literature.
