ABSTRACT Credit cards are economic tools which are not best known in Turkey. In 1980's after following free market and opening to foreign policy, the number of people of using of the credit cards had been possed over 2 million in 30th Sept. 1995. Increase in using credit card has brought many problems. One of the deficiency is the absence of instructure of law and another deficiency this subject is not enough known by the card holders. Made in this working, first of all the definition of credit card had been given and the using of credit card had been investigated. While informing, phrases which in the using of credit card had been explained and for the economic use it had been trred to give clues. And in working it is made use of the information of“Bankalararası Kart Merkezi A.Ş.”Turkey is still unsotigfied market about credit cards. Especially international credit card structures being concious of this fact, make a big investment and in the last two year they have opered the connection officies of Visa International and Mastercard. By officies of this two international credit cards and the card marketing banks and when the economic regression was added, the number of people of the using card had increased. It was seemed at the end of 1995.The number of people usingthe card passed over 3 million. And the total of shopping by card rised more than one year ago. Although this working did not bring a different commert from the othess but it is supposed that this working will determine the prevalent of using the credit card and by informing about the using of credit card will be use ful to card holders.
