Özet
Toplumların hazinesi niteliğinde olan arşivler, Tarih bilimi için birinci dereceden kaynakların toplandığı yerlerdir. Mahalli arşivlerimizden olan KAYTAM Erciyes Üniversitesi'nin desteği ile açılmış olup, bugün Kayseri Tarihi'ne önemli ölçüde ışık tutmaktadır. Tezimizin konusunu da KAYTAM'daki 352 Numaralı Klasörde Yer Alan Defter ve Koçanların (R. 1266/ M. 1850-R. 1306/ M. 1890) Transkripsiyon ve Değerlendirmesi oluşturmaktadır. Tezimizin giriş bölümünde arşivcilik ve şehir tarihçiliği hakkında bilgi, birinci bölümünde özet, ikinci bölümünde transkripsiyon ve üçüncü bölümünde ise değerlendirme mevcuttur. Belgelerimiz arasında nüfus defterleri, maaş defterleri, hayvan sayım defterleri, vergi defterleri, mahkeme kayıtları, tahsilat ve masarifat belgeleri gibi farklı nitelikte belgeler bulunmaktadır. Bu bakımdan tez çalışmamız Kayseri'nin XIX.yüzyıl siyasi, sosyal, ekonomik, hukuki, askeri vb. tarihine belgeler sayesinde katkı sağlamaktadır.

Archives, which are the treasury of the societies, are the places where primary sources for the field of history are collected. KAYTAM, one of our local archives, has been opened with the support of Erciyes University and today sheds significant light on the history of Kayseri. Thus the subject of our thesis is the transcription and discussion of the record books and documents (1850-1890) in the folder numbered 352 preserved in the Kayseri History Research Center (KAYTAM). There is information about archiving and urban historiography in the introductory chapter of our thesis. The first section includes the abstract, the second section the transcription and the third section the evaluation. Our documents involve different kinds of materials such as population registers, salary registers, small cattle enquiry registers, tax registers, court records, tax collection and expenses documents. In this respect, our thesis study contributes to the political, social, economic, legal and military history of Kayseri in the XIXth century, through documents.
