Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, medikal turizm kapsamında Didim'e gelen dental turistlerin demografik özelliklerinin destinasyonu tercih etme nedenleri üzerindeki etkilerinin araştırılmasıdır. Çalışmada hedeflenen kitleden veri toplamak amacı için nicel bir araştırma yöntemi olarak açıklayıcı nitelikte (exploratory/explanatory) alan araştırması (survey) yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Anket, Nisan – Kasım 2018 tarihleri arasında çalışmanın evrenini oluşturan Didim'deki yabancı hasta trafiğine sahip sekiz ağız ve diş sağlığı polikliniği ile muayenehanelere gelen dental turistlere uygulanmıştır. Bahsi geçen sağlık kuruluşları toplam hasta sayılarını vermek istememişlerdir. Kliniklerin kısıtlı bilgilendirmesine dayanarak yaklaşık 500 olarak tahmin edilen hasta sayısı üzerinden örneklem belirlenmiştir. Anketler sağlık kuruluşlarının çalışanları tarafından online olarak hastalara uygulanmış ve toplamda 206 ankete ulaşılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler bağımsız örneklem t-Testi, ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U, Kruskall Wallis H, tek örneklem t-Testi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, Didim'i tercih eden dental turistlerin demografik özellikleri ile destinasyon tercih nedenleri arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmadığı, ayrıca dental turistlerin eğitim seviyesi arttıkça tavsiyeye daha fazla ihtiyaç duydukları ve tedavilerini yaptırmayı planladıkları sağlık kuruluşlarıyla daha fazla iletişim kurdukları ortaya çıkmıştır.

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of the demographic characteristics of the dental tourists coming to Didim within the scope of medical tourism on the reasons of preference. In order to collect data from the targeted population, a exploratory/explanatory field survey method was used as a quantitative research method. The questionnaire was applied to dental tourists who came to the eight oral and dental health clinics in Didim which constitute the universe of the study between April - November 2018. These dental clinics did not want to give the total number of patients. The sample size was determined on the number of patients estimated to be approximately 500 depending on limited information offered by the clinics. The questionnaires were applied to the patients online by the employees of the dental clinics and a total of 206 questionnaires were reached. The data were analyzed using the independent sample t-Test, ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U, Kruskall Wallis H, single sample t-Test. As a result of the research, it was found that there was no significant difference between the demographic characteristics of the dental tourists who prefer Didim and the reasons for the choice of destination, furthermore that the dental tourists increased their education level, they were more in need of advice and communicated more with the health institutions where they planned to have their treatment.
