NaGdP207 IN KATI -HAL REAKSİYONLARI İLE SENTEZİ, X-ISINLARI DİFFRAKSİYÖNÜ VE İR ÇALIŞMALARI DARRAS, Majed Fen ve Edebiyat Fakültesi Kimya Bölümü, Y. Lisans Tesi Tes Yöneticisi: Prof. Di“. Meral Kısilyalli 123 Sayfa, Şubat 1989 ÖZET Bu teşde sodyum godolinyuro pirofosfat, NaSdF'207 tipinde yeni bir bileşiğin sentesi j değişik katı-katı reaks iyon lar indan giderek, derişik eicakliklarda denendi. MaGdE'207 in, elde edildiği katx-katı reakeiy onlar inda asagıd belirtilen bileşikler gösterilen oranlarda kullanıldı. GdP04 + NaP03, 2P2O5 + Na2C03 + Gd203, Gd203 + Ha2C03 + (NH4)2HP04 Ara ve son bileşiklerin X-isinlari tos difraksiyonu ve İR spektroskopla i ile belir- lemfıesi9650°C de yapılan üçüncü reaksiyonurij NaGdP207 in elde edilmesinde kullanılabileceğin gösterdi. -vvNaGdP207 in X- ışınları desenleri ortororobik sistemde a=12. 44, b=15.00 ve c=15.87 A”birim hücre boyutları ile indekslendi. Usay grubu Pınm2 olarak bulundu, Na6dP2C>7 i yapısı aydınlatıldıktan sonra NaLaF'207 ve NaYF'207 d hazırlandı. NaGd.F'207 ve NaLa?207 in aynı yapıda olduğu gözlendi fakat HaY?207 in değişik bii" yapıda olduğu belirlendi. NaLaPgC^, NaGdP2Ö7 ve NaYP2Û7 un hesaplanan birim hücre hacimleri bunların verilen siraya göre asaldlgını gösterdi. Bu bulgu lantanit büzülmesi olayinin ispatlanmasıdir. Bu çalışmada KGdP2C>7 ve KYP2O7 de hasirlandi, fakat bunların ortorombik sistemde indekslenmelerine ragmen yapılarının diğerleri ile aynı olmadığı görüldü. SYNTHESIS OF NaGdP207 BY SOLID-STATE REACTIONS, X-RAY DIFFRACTION AND IE STUDIES DARRAS, Majed Faculty of Arts and Sciences Department of Chemistry, M.S. Thesis Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Meral Kxsilyalli 123 Pages, February 1989 ABSTRACT In this thesis the synthesis of a new compound, NaGdJ?207 » sodium gadolinium pyrophosphate, has been tried through different solid-solid reactions at different temperatures. In the solid-solid reactions the following reactants were used to obtain NaGdP2<>7 with the given proportions: GdP(>4 + NaPOs, 2P2O5 + Na^COs + Gd2<>3, Gd2°3 + 4(NH432HP04 + N0.2CO3, Clarification of the intermediates and the final products obtained in these reactions by X-ray powder diffraction and IR spectroscopy showed that the third solid- state reaction performed at 650 C can be used to prepare.iv-NaGd.P207. The X-ray data of NaGdF^Oy was indexed in or tho rhombic system with the unit cell parameters of a=12.44, b=15.00 and c=15,87 h" and the space group was found to be Pmro2. After establishing the crystal structure of Na6dP20y, Na.La.P2O7 and H&YF2Ö7 were also prepared. Ha.Gd.P2O7 and NaLaP2C>7 were found to be isostructural but N&YF2O7 does not have the same structure. The calculated unit cell volumes of NaLaP£07, NaGdP2Û7 and NaYP2?>7 were found to decrease in the given order which proved the Ian thanide contraction. KGdPg07 and KYP2O7 were also prepared in this work, but it was found that they had different structures although they were also indexed in orthorhombic system.
