Özet
Amaç: Erzurum Remzi Sakaoğlu Bilim ve Sanat Merkezine devam eden, ÖYG (Özel Yetenekleri Geliştirme) ve BYF (Bireysel Yetenekleri Fark Etme) eğitim programlarında, en az bir yıl kimya eğitimi almış üstün yetenekli öğrencilerin Kimya dersine yönelik görüşlerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Yöntem: Öğrencilere veri toplama aracı olarak sekiz açık uçlu sorudan oluşan yapılandırılmış yazılı görüş formu yöneltilmiştir. Çalışmada nitel araştırma modellerinden Durum Çalışması (Case Study) yöntemi kullanılmış, elde edilen bulgular içerik analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular: BİLSEM'de uygulanan kimya eğitimi ile ilgili, ÖYG ve BYF programında eğitim gören öğrencilere yazılı görüşme formları uygulanmış ve bu formlar incelendiğinde; kız öğrencilerin mevcut eğitim durumundan memnun oldukları, erkek öğrencilerin beklentilerinin var olan eğitim sisteminin üzerinde olduğu görülmüştür. BİLSEM'de mevcut olan materyaller ve malzemelerin yetersiz olduğu konusunda her iki grubun da hem fikir oldukları görülmüştür. ÖYG ve BYF gruplarında bulunan bazı kız ve erkek öğrencilerin, BİLSEM'de aldıkları eğitimi, gündüz eğitim gördükleri okullarda bulunan arkadaşlarına karşı bir öncelik olarak görmeleri beklenen bir durum değildir. Sonuç: Kendi potansiyellerinin farkında olan ve grubun ötesinde özellikleri ile tanımlanan üstün yetenekli öğrenciler için rekabet duygusu ne kişilik özellikleri ile ne de BİLSEM'in kuruluş amacı ile bağdaşmamaktadır. Üstün yetenekli ya da normal düzeydeki bir öğrencinin meslek seçimi sınavlarında aynı sınava tabi tutuluyor olması onları ister istemez bu duyguya yönlendirmiş olabilir. Üstün yetenekli çocukların doğal yapısında var olmayan duyguların oluşmasına neden olmak, ileride beklentimizden daha düşük sonuçlar elde edeceğimizin habercisidir.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the opinions of gifted students towards chemistry course who have studied chemistry for at least one year in the ongoing education programs DSS and RIS of Erzurum Remzi Sakaoglu Science and Art Center. Method: A structured interview forms consisting of eight open-ended questions were directed to students as a data collection tool. Case study method was used as a qualitative research model in the study and the findings were analyzed by content analysis method. Finding: To students who have been educated in DSS and RIS programs, interview forms including questions for credit hour, educational activities and expectations related to chemistry course have been applied. Then, their responses were examined. Related to chemistry education applied in BİLSEM, it is seen that girls are pleased with the present education situation however expectations of boys are over the current education system. It is observed that some of the girls and boys agreed on materials and stuff found in BİLSEM are inadequate. It is not expected that some of the girls and boys participated in DSS and RIS see the education taken from BİLSEM as a priority compared to those friends who takes course in daytime schools. Results: Competitiveness for gifted students who are aware of their own potentials and beyond their group characteristics doesn't reach an agreement with neither personality traits nor with the establishment purpose of BİLSEM. The fact that a gifted or a normal student is being subjected to the same test in career tests may have led them to this emotion unwillingly. Causing growth of unnatural emotions in gifted children is the bringer of bad news such as obtaining much lower outcomes than what was anticipated before.
