Özet
Çukurova Üniversitesi (ÇU) ve Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi (ODTÜ) İngiliz Dili Eğitimi Bölümlerinde okuyan hazırlık ve birinci sınıf öğrencilerinin İngilizce yeterlik düzeylerini karşılaştırmak amacıyla, S9 ODTÜ İngiliz Dili Eğitimi hazırlık ve birinci sınıf öğrencisinin ÇU muafiyet sınavından elde ettikleri sonuçlar 68 ÇU İngiliz Dili Eğitimi hazırlık ve birinci sınıf öğrencisinin ODTÜ muafiyet sınavından elde ettikleri sonuçlarla kıyaslandı. ODTÜ ve ÇU hazırlık ve birinci sınıf öğrencilerinin arasında çıkması beklenen performance farklılıkları test ve alt testlerden elde edilen sonuçların güvenilirliği açısından incelendi. Her iki ölçüm aracı üstünde yapılan sora analizinden çıkan sonuçlara dayanarak ÇU ve ODTÜ muafiyet smavlarmm iyileştirilmesi için öneriler yapıldı. in

In order to compare the English language proficiency exit levels of the preparatory students in the English Language Teaching (ELT) department of Çukurova University (ÇU) and those in the Foreign Language Education (FLE) department at the Middle East Technical University (METU), the scores obtained from 89 METU FLE preparatory and freshman students on the ÇU ELT English language proficiency test will be compared to the scores obtained from 68 ÇU ELT preparatory and freshman students on the ÇU ELT proficiency test and METU English language proficiency test. The possible and expected differences in performance to occur between the ÇU ELT students and METU FLE students will be examined with reference to the reliability of the scores obtained from the sub-tests of both tests. Depending on the findings to be obtained from the formal item analysis to be performed on both instruments suggestions for further improvement of the ÇU ELT English language proficiency test will be given.
