Özet
ÖZET“An Analysis of the Reflection of the Feritas Imagery in Othello Translations”başlıklı bu dizgesel betimleyici çalışmanın amacı, farklı tarihlerde yapılmış beş Othello çevirisinde, izleksel örge özelliği taşıyan“feritas”imgesinin erek dizgede yansıtılıp yansıtılmadığını saptamaktır. Bu çalışmada ayrıca, zaman içinde değişim gösteren dil ve kültür normlarının, seçilen çevirilerdeki“feritas”imgesini hangi doğrultuda etkilediği araştırılmıştır. Bu dizgesel betimleyici çalışmanın kuramsal çerçevesini Itamar Even-Zohar'ın Çoğuldizge kuramı ve Gideon Toury'nin Erek-odaklı kuramı oluşturmaktadır.

ABSTRACT An analysis of the Reflection of the Freitas Imagery in Othello Translations by Meltem Erinçmen This study titled“An Analysis of the Reflection of the Feritas Imagery in Othello Translations”attempts to investigate whether the significance of the feritas imagery, which is the main focus of Othello, has been effectfully reflected in the Turkish target system. This descriptive systemic study also attempts to reveal any changes that might affect the reflection of the feritas imagery, in the cultural and linguistic norms of the target system from the Declaration of the Turkish Republic in 1923 to the last Othello translation in 1985. Itamar Even-Zohar's Polysystem Theory and Gideon Tourys Target-oriented approach constitute the theoretical framework of the thesis. rv
