Özet
Bu çalışmada Thomas Hobbes ve John Locke'un Siyaset Felsefesi hakkındaki görüşlerini ortaya koyarak, karşılaştırmaya gayret ettik. Ancak bunu yapmadan önce siyaset kavramının nasıl değerlendirildiği ve siyaset felsefesinin problem alanı hakkında bilgi vermeye çalıştık. Siyaset kuramında geleneksel anlayıştan kopuşu ilk olarak gerçekleştiren Thomas Hobbes olmuştur. John Locke ise bu anlayışı siyaset kuramında ileriye götürmüştür. Böylece onun düşünceleri çağını aşıp daha sonraki çağlarda etkili olmuştur. Thomas Hobbes genel felsefesini ortaya koyduğu, siyaset kuramını üzerine oturttuğu eseri Leviathan'da ve John Locke siyaset kuramını ortaya koyduğu Two Tratise of Civil Government adlı eserinde 17.yy İngilteresinin içinde bulunduğu durumdan etkilenerek siyaset kuramlarında oldukça farklı sonuçlara varmışlardır. Aradan asırlar geçmesine rağmen her iki filozofun siyaset görüşleri değerini kaybetmemiştir. Bu amaçla Thomas Hobbes ve John Locke'un siyaset kuramlarını ortaya koyarak karşılaştırmayı uygun gördük.

In this study, we have tried to compare by bringing out Thomas Hobbes' and John Locke's thoughts in the politics philosophy. But we have tried to in form about how the politics conception examined and about the problem area of the polotics philosophy before we studied that. Thomas Hobbes' politics theory has realized to break off the traditional mentality for the first time. However John Locke has brought this mentality in the politics theory more forward. Therefore his thoughts have passed over his age and has been impressive on the next ages. Hobbes' book called Leviathan which brought out his general philosophy and which arranged politics theory on it and John Locke's book called Treatise of Civil Government which brought out his politics theory have been impressed by the situation in which seventeen century England was found have reached to quite different results in politics theories. Although centuries passed, the politics thoughts of these two philosophers have never lost their values. Therefore we have seen fit to compare by bringing out Thomas Hobbes' and John Locke's politics theories.
