122 SUMMARY This study includes the life of Babanzâde Ahmet Nairn who has lived towords the end of ottomon Empire (1872-1934) and his thoughts, works and studies concerning hâdith. Ahmet Nairn besides his firm religion culture, is a person had got western scientific mentality. He took his graduation from Galatasaray Lisesi and Mülkiye School which moderm sciencies had been thought in. Later on he has become on administrator in difitent departments of the state. In 1914 he attended to Darülfünun and has thought phisologh, psychology, logic and moral courses. Ahmet Nairn who didn't get medrese (classical school) education, has lerned religius sciencies and Arabic through special courses and by his own efforts. Seeking the sollution of the problems in Kor'an and Sünnet was the fundamental feqture of his scientific personality. Meanwhile, He also has given place to western thoughts in his studies. Ahmet Nairn who supports the Islamic unity in political arena, resisted against the nationalistic movements and western thought. Ahmet Nairn who spoke Arabic and French well, had many studies and articles rended from these lenguages. Ahmet Nairn who became notorous in hadith sciencies, had translated and explained the Buhari's Camiu's-Sahih which is accepted the biggest book after Ko ran in Islamic world. İn this book he had written an introduction including 495 pages, concerning the methodology of hadith. This book is an important and unique study in its field.
