Özet
Hz. Peygamber'in yaşamının on yılını geçirdiği Medine, bu zaman diliminde vahyin pratiklerini hayata geçirme faaliyetlerine sahne olmuştur. Yeni dinin ilk muhatabı olan Medine toplumu, Peygamberli yıllarda edindiği yaşam tecrübelerini onun olmadığı bir dönemde nebevî model şeklinde sunarak gelecek nesillere aktarmıştır. Bu çalışmamızda Medine'nin vahiy sürecinin akabindeki yaklaşık otuz yıllık sürecini toplumsal hayatı açısından inceledik. Medine özelinde yapılmış bir sosyal tarih çalışması olan tezimizde, şehirdeki fiziki mekânları toplumsal hayatla ilişkisi bakımından ele aldık. Şehrin demografik yapısı ve bu yapıya etki eden faktörleri belirlemeye çalışarak toplum üzerindeki etkisini ortaya koymayı amaçladık. Şehrin sosyal ve dinî yaşamını incelerken önceki dönemlerle olan benzerlik ve farklılıklarını sunmaya çalıştık. Medine'nin idarî yapısını yine toplumla olan münasebetleri açısından değerlendirdik. Son olarak, toplumsal yaşamı en fazla etkileyen amillerden biri olan iktisadî yapıyı, kamu faaliyetleri ve sivil ekonomi şeklinde inceledik. Çalışmamızın sonucunda Medine toplumunun bir taraftan geçmişinden getirdiği anlayış ve geleneklerini sürdürürken bir taraftan da yeni durumlara kolayca adapte olabildiğini tespit ettik. Bu dönemde iktisadî yönden büyük bir değişim yaşanırken toplum hayatının her alanı bu değişimden etkilenmiştir. Bu açıdan Medine toplumu diğer toplumlardan farklı olarak sosyolojik tezleri zorlayacak bir tavır göstermemiştir.

Medina where Prophet Muhammad spent ten years of his life has witnessed the implementation activities of divine inspiration practices in this time period. Being the first object of new religion, Medina community transferred the life experiences they acquired during the years with The Prophet to the next generations by presenting in the form of nabawi model in a period without him. In this study, we examined nearly thirtyyear period of Medina following the process of divine inspiration in terms of social life. In our thesis which is a social history study carried out specific to Medina, we discussed the physical spaces in the city in terms of their relations with the social life. We sought to determine the demographic structure of the city and the factors affecting this structure, and aimed to reveal its effect on society. While examining the social and religious life of the city, we sought to present the similarities and differences compared with the previous periods. We also evaluated Medina's administrative structure in terms of its relations with society. Finally, we examined the economic structure, which is one of the most affecting factors of social life, in the form of public activities and civil economy. As a result of our study, we reached the determination that the Medina community continued their understanding and traditions that they brought from their past, on the other hand, they could easily adapt to new situations. During this period, while the society experienced a big change in terms of economics, all areas of life were affected by this change. In this respect, the Medina community showed an attitude that will force sociological theses unlike other communities.
