77 SUMMARY In this study the effects of marriage on nationality has been examined from the view point of both 1964 Turkish Nationality Act and 1991 Kazakhstan Nationality Act Turkish Nationaltiy Act regulates the effects of marriage on nationalatiy bilaterally i.e. the marriaga between a foreign woman and a Turkish man and the marriage between a Turkish woman and a foreign man. Turkish Nationality Act recognizes the modern theory as regards the effects of marriage on woman's nationality. In other words, no effect of marriage, without the will of the woman, has been strictly accepted onto nationality, in both of the cases that are mentioned above. Also 1991 Kazakshtan Nationality Act admits, in principle, that marriage does not affect the nationality of parties thereto. The point that should be mentioned is, the Act, on the basis of equality, provides that marriage may effect the nationality of both parties. A Kazakhstan National, whether male or female, who is married a foreign national does not atumatically lose Kazakhstan Nationality on the ground of marriaga, or a foreigner marired a Kazakhstan naitonal does not automatically acquire Kazakhstan nationality. 1991 Kazakshtan Nationality Act provides the acguisition and the loss of Kazakhstan Nationality through the decision of the competent authoritiy. In Conclusion, the comparison made between the two national acts as regards the effects of marriage on nationality puts forward that the Kazakshtan Nationality Act accepts the modern theory much more strictly.
