Özet (Çeviri)

This thesis investigates the religious history of Uzbekistan and their Folk believes. It has an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion. The introduction explains the historical borders of Uzbekistan, its population and ethnic structure. The first chapter investigates the religious history of Uzbekistan Turks and the religions that existed before İslâm such as Buddizm, Zoraastrionism, Christianity, Manihaism and old Turkis believes. Besides it olso studies the expansion of İslâm in Uzbekistan along with the history of Uzbekistan Turks, the religion of İslâm and general conditions of muslims in the area. The second chapter determines the folk believes of contemoarary Turks of Uzbekistan. It treces the roots of some old Turkic believes which survived among the contemporary Uzbekistan Turks under islamic motives. The conclusion summarizes the basic points of the thesis.
