SUMMARY This study has been carried out to determine effects of the physical training on the development of gross motor skills of the children with Down's Syndrome between 3-6 years of life. Subjects, of the study consisted of eighth 3-6 years old children (girls and boys) with Down's Syndrome trained at the Special Education Unit of the Child Health and Education Department of Hacettepe University during 2nd semester of 1994-95 educational year. The study was structude in a design of pretest- training-post test, and The Evaluation Lists for Gross Motor Skills was used to determine children's gross motor skills. After application of the training program based on the pre-test evaluations and these information, effects of the training was determined by means of a post-test. It is found that the physical training has significant (p<0.05) effects on children's some motor skills including walking, running, jumping, keeping, balance on mattress passing barriers, stair climbing and bicycle riding. 101
