The main purpose of this report is to present the activities carried out during my internship in the Committee 1 Economy and Regional Development of the Assembly of European Regions (AER), Brussels. Firstly, the relationship between the host organization and the European Governance is presented in the report. Further, the foundation of the AER in the 1980s is mentioned and the institutional structure of the AER is described. Secondly, the report highlights the six-month internship period focusing on the completed tasks that can be categorized into two types. Finally, the report critically assesses the difficulties and the achievements experienced during the internship program. In the light of my experiences, the report concludes with some final reflections regarding the European governance at regional level. My observations during my internship are also briefly mentioned.
