In this thesis, the SOLE learning model launched by S. Mitra was implemented as a case study in Turkey. The experiment was designed exclusively in science and technology class of a secondary school. The main purpose of the experiment was to observe if the students can solve scientific problems by using Internet on their own without any external interruption. Since this experiment was introduced for the first time in the country, the results of it are precious in terms of feasibility of the model in any particular field of education. Results of the experiment revealed that the SOLE model might be implemented with some minor modifications in any fields of modern education. However, the SOLE system should be introduced to the country to raise awareness of educators and parents because traditional teacher based education system is still effective in the country. This clearly shows that educators play an important role to adapt and spread the system over the country. In other words, child-driven learning might be taken into account by the educational authorities in Turkey so as to fulfil the requirements of this enquiry based technology assisted education approach.
