Özet
Hizmetler sektörü, ekonominin gelişme süreci içinde artan bir önem kazanmaktadır. Yirminci yüzyılın ikinci yarısından başlayarak, hem gelişmiş hem de gelişmekte olan ülkelerde, hizmet sektörü, diğer iki ana sektörü yani tarım ve sanayiyi geride bırakmaya başlamıştır. Bunun temel nedeni, hizmet sektörünün hem ülkelerdeki refah ve gelişmişlik düzeyinin bir göstergesi olması, hem de gelişen teknolojiye paralel insan gereksinimlerindeki artış ve farklılaşmanın çok değişik hizmet türlerinin ortaya çıkmasına yol açmasıdır. Bununla birlikte, hizmetler sektöründe emek-yoğun üretimin ağırlıkta olması istihdam hacminin genişlemesi açısından bu sektörün önemini açıkça ortaya koymaktadır. Hizmetler sektörü içerisinde yer alan turizm sektörü, Türkiye'de özellikle 1980 yılından sonra büyük bir gelişme göstermiş ve ülkenin ekonomik sıkıntılar yaşadığı dönemlerde büyük bir döviz girdisi sağlayarak dış açıkların giderilmesinde, işsizliğin azaltılmasında, ödemeler dengesinin iyileştirilmesinde önemli bir paya sahip olmuştur. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın amacı; hizmet sektörü içerisinde yer alan turizmin, Türkiye ekonomisindeki yeri, önemi ve etkilerini temel ekonomik büyüklükler açısından durumunu; turizmin milli gelir ve yatırımlardaki payı, toplam yabancı turist sayısı, turizm gelirleri gibi ikincil veriler kullanarak analiz edilmiştir.

Service sector has an improving importence in developing process of economy. at the first second of 20. Cetury, in both improved and improving service sector outpace the other two main carges, industry and agriculture. The main reason is, the service sector, both countries have an indication of the level of welfare and development, as well as parallel with the advancing growth and differentiation of human necessity, causing the emergence of very different types of services. However, employment in the services sector and expand the volume of people to be weighted, clearly demonstrates the importance of this sector. The services sector in the tourism sector in Turkey has shown a great improvement, especially after 1980, and the country's economic problems during his lifetime by providing a large external deficits in removing the foreign exchange reserves, reducing unemployment, improving the balance of payments had a considerable share. The aim of this respect, the tourism which is contain in the service sector where Turkey's economy, in terms of importance and impact of the status of main economic aggregates, tourism and investment, the share of national income, the total number of tourists, such as tourism revenues by using secondary data to analyze.
